upgrades....

I really don't see the problem with more people having the best items tbh - if I were better geared I would just engage in pvp more rather than just running/tping, as would everybody presumably.

Cho mentioned there being no 'end-game' but presumably the closest thing to it Soma has is the opportunity to pose any kind of threat in pvp, which imo would be facilitated by more people being appropriately geared.

The +1 but no stats approach would still leave a gear differential in-tact, it would just mean there was more mid-level gear floating around.

+1 viskah’s idea, I don’t play loads and I’m too scared to upgrade myself as too poor to afford breakages so I just buy

You’d totally devalue items, everyone would have intense everything, people would smash loads of SS on weapons and have crazy OP weapons before long, people would get bored very quickly, I could go on all day about the problems this extremely short term ‘solution’ would create.

But surly the fact that +1 = no stat gain would limit this just as well since you would end up with +8 with the stats of a +3 or +4?

Why would you be any more likely to 'smash' an SS given your effective +7=+3 being safe v your +7 breaking going to +8? The only difference I can see is that it would preserve noob items better.

Maybe it would help to have the +1 but no stats alongside a reduction in success?

You would ‘smash’ them on things because even if 2 fail and 6 work it’s highly likely to be very OP still, you just wouldn’t go 1-8 the way things are currently as the chance of breaks and losing it all are too high.

Try to think more than a week ahead of time, maybe that’ll help.

But if +6 is just less likely it would even out and there would be more medium level items, no?

Of course it would and I’m not disputing that, what I’m disputing is whether that is worth destroying the game by giving everyone stupidly OP gear within a couple of months after some luck (as let’s face it, success rates aren’t as bad as everyone seems to make out), then everyone gets bored/sick of being dropped in a millisecond constantly and the game is far worse off for it.

I think what we need is some accurate data on how many people quit due to boredom from maxing gear v quit due to discontent due to inability to compete.

If that were available it would help settle the argument.

if it failed and just gained a + ..gear wud not be op.. would just result in a bit more gear ingame ..allowing ur average joe to have at least something to compete with....
A + 8 all the way, no fail wep, wud still be awesome and wudnt lose any value.

All depends on ur vision for the game ...a handful of ppl with mega +8 maxed out gear ..controlling the game.. or letting a few other ppl in on the action.

All opinion whatever u think..In the end it's the Gm's that do all that stuff.
Like nite said ...2x..everythin a bit easier and uc soars..thats good for every1.
( more mats in the shops wud be nice ..i logged on at 7.30 am today.... like 20 ppl zig zaggin across the screen tryin to buy mats hehe)

Another idea.. give 100 skill crafters the success rates that currently 150 is...
...................................150 that 200 is

and a lil boost for 200 crafters

or... up the max craft in 1 skill to 250 ..and add another tier of success ... this 200 aint cuttin the mustard tbh
damn x

Yea some accurate data on things like that would be great, however that’s not gonna happen is it lol. We’ll have to agree to disagree.

Lupi FYI I’m running around in +3/4/5 bits, good but not amazing and I still don’t want everything made considerably easier.

I just think everyone running around in insane gear would be detrimental for the game, we haven’t even seen the new weapons in action properly for the most part yet, or new proc’s/maxed new attack and MA access and people are asking for those new items to be very easy and risk free to make now.

Some extra mats would be lovely I can definitely agree on that lol, the mats NPC’s are rammed near non stop atm.

I have always wanted to see a tower implemented into Soma, with say 10 floors, each large with lots of mobs and chests with random loot and a boss on each floor that activates for a group of players, maybe 2 - 4, that presents a challenge, with each floor increasing in difficulty.

With each floor clearance going to a leader board showing times etc.

Something like that, a kind of deep dungeon raid system if you will, would present something to aim for and compete against others in.

It would also provide a reason outside of pure PvP to gear up and farm items.
