Greetings Somarians

This is a quick update regarding what the Community Volunteer group has been up to following the Community Meeting that took place.
I want to remind every single person that this "Group" is mainly helping to fix all the issues the wholsome Community has raised with Soma, and to ultimately do the leg work for ISYLVER and FINITO.

Below is a list of subjects that have been addressed regarding all the suggestions on the Community Forum/ Public Discord / Open Community Meeting
Please remember to be open minded, as we have spent over 100 hours combined in the past week brainstorming every aspect of what has been mentioned recently.

ALL pending ideas are awaiting ISYLVER's and FINITOS approval so we can then release it to the community for feedback.

1. NPC Re-work

ALL Weapon NPC's and Armour NPC's to be reworked to allow the convinience of buying equipment that is neccesery for hunting at a low level (pre 86 STR)
This will give the freedom with the +50 route fix for any new players to hunt where they please and when they hit Hoarde shanis level/stats they then can get the next tier weps/arm from the drops.
Overall this fix along with +50 route will give new players overall an amazing experience early game. You can now freely explore without being penalized (pre 86 STR)

2. Boss File Re-work

All boss files have been re-worked to bring them into line with the new tier of wep. For example any bosses dropping tier 3 (stinger) will be upgraded to tier 2 (psy bow) Level weps
Main map bosses like Dionaea have had some nice upgrades as well to their drop file meaning it will be worth attenting do all main bosses.
Lower level bosses and mage bosses have had a big overhaul as well to help the lower levels and mages get some nice loot.
This will hopefully give every boss in the game a new lease of life and will bring that excitement back when any boss spawns.
Bosses that have not been effect at the moment are T8 bosses ( we don’t want good items to be camped) Bosses only used for events i.e zombie Z, Seasonal bosses etc.

3. Somapedia (Wikipedia)

A wiki page will be worked on to make everything about the game much easier to update and so everyone can pitch in. This will help keep the game upto date and help new players. We have 2 people working on setting this up at the moment. Remember that this is an open source subject, meaning if you have guides or can add screenshots of i.e Dsoma Armour exchange requirments for Solid Armour Set then we would like to hear from you.

4. Reaching out to distant players

We are in touch with the Chinese server and will be working with them to try and make it so they can understand our server more using a translation service. This will be an on going process but is being worked on as we speak.

5. Additional Content

As of now we cant spoil much, but we have development ongoing that will be patched on the 25th. We also have remastered/ reimagined music that has been composed to stay true to the original music, but to greatly uplift the Soma experience.
I hope you can see we are all very busy and have a very exeperienced team working hard to try and solve all the issues the community raises. Once we have feedback from Dan and Fin regarding the above we can release community polls for YOU to decide how you want to shape Soma.

Cracking.

Is the music update going to compulsory or can we choose between new and old?

As of now TYT has been mixed with uplifting Pads, Chimes and Percussion, including a remaster. Its still very much the same song.

TYT Fields has also been re imagined but sounds identical in terms of melody and harmonics. This time with the core element of the song which then drifts off into a re imagining. It has heavy Orchestral percussion to reflect its dark nature.

I am in the middle of toying with Merc field but it is a rather niche compact/ bland song. May re visit it.

There is a new Melee hit SFX that sounds less comicbook like and more pleasent and realistic when you hit.

The last 4 compositions are what has been produced for Soma so far. Over 20 hours of my personal creative time.

I would appreciate if you could give me the opportunity to show you how much I adore Soma.

If there is an opt out feature implemented so you cant be pked, then i for one will quit for good and im 99% sure anyone who is here to play soma for the pk/pvp scene will never return/quit also. :)

the 2pk 30 min rule is good!. it was brought in because u abused people to the point players could not even leave town/hunt at all. The abuse you gave to the majority of players is 1000x more than what i have done. They are talking about making it so you can completely opt out of pvp. This will make the game basically PVE only. in turn i will also then quit for good. thats all im saying
