Hey
I don't know if Elder mags/mags are meant to do int from range 1 or not but it is annoying as hell when they do. They don't use melee at range 3 or? (normal mags can do stone from range 3 but not other auras correct me if im wrong) Imo they should only use melee from range 1 and only magic from distance. But in my dreams melee and int elder mags should be two seperate mobs at different spawns ;). I just want to put this up for discussion to see what you all think. So what do you think?

elders more difficult now for mele since the range changed..they do int at range and at range 1 ...u get battered with int b4 u even get close to them...then get battered again ..
on the other hand.. i saw mage tanking 5-6 of them this morning from range seeming very easy for them. Normal mags don't hit with int at range1.. well hardly any..if at all Have to level a mage maybe .

Current mags do magic attack at range 1 too, I guess it's just the mix between magic and melee attack that is different? For example from 20% magic to 40% or something?

Mellee didn't have much to say when they was only range1 was fine. Mages had to hit n run.
Now mages have a chance with the range Looking at the stats. Elders have 201int 136 defensive dex 201str Surely with most mellee having 225 str + 160ish+ Dex Hasn't anyone ever thought of using nightmare armour and save having a Justin Timberlake moment. Having dodgy + MD 'IF' it int u will minimise the damage being done to you.

Aye but that's like a mage doing 0 str. Surely going through the leveling u would atleast get 100 int to cover most of the basis or can use the 56 int armour. Oe can help with both to help MD :)

Some folk didn't exploit the AFK healing and blocking themselves in houses for days on end....
Some folk sacrificed INT for DEX/STR .... So, low INT players (especially Range 1 builds) can't benefit from the Magmas (Normal or Elder) .... That's fine if you want to say it is as a result of "character build" But, the Magmas have a drop file that is insane AND they have benefited from more and more goodies being added. Now we have "Elder Magmas" with an even more insane drop file. The existence of Magmas and the love given to them post the level 100 cap has created a significant imbalance in the game. It is completely correct that mages should not have to "hit & run" .... turning the INT attack off at "Range 1" balances the playing field for melee class. (Melee still get blasted with INT as they approach and still get attached with huge swiping clawed hands and still get "detonated" by Whelps and a second looming Magma will still chuck heatwaves of INT leaving a melee player gibbering in a heap just before the inevitable SCREAM) 8) Jac/Prowler

Nothing should have changed with range 1 melee and magic
Tho dont think it's currently possible for them to only do melee dmg at range 1, the mobs going to use wat ever it can hit with Understand what your getting at, mags a issue for all none range classes on dsoma It was always going to course some issue not having mage and melee versions

I think they are fine. This coming from a char with 95 int. Sure the magic hurts like balls, but i can still take down a fair few per hunt even with my lackluster stats and equipment.
These are the prime drop mobs; they are supposed to be a challenge surely. |

Could have guessed this was going to happen, mages jumping on the 'get some int' band wagon. Why couldn't you of got some dex? oh because that's not your build... well getting 120/150 int wasn't on my agenda when making my char and foolishly and accidentally I've capped meaning I'm stuck with my int, I could handle them range 1, doing the same that I did with normal mags, could do an hour or so with 1 pot run but now they bite from 2.6 million miles away. 20 mins, that's all i get before having to pot up.
Before they changed to range 3 mages were complaining (rightly so) for being interrupted by their melee attacks, now they've changed to range 3 they are all of a sudden 'fine' because now mages can hunt them? Well low int melee chars are now complaining (rightly so) for being smashed from range 3 and range 1. If it can only be one range or another we have to come up with another solution like a max dmg it can do or something because unless you are in a group or have a mage tank a solo player with low int/melee, might be put off. Just an fyi, im happy with my build. A little annoyed that I've capped but it is what it is. I'm happy to get a tank or go with people or hit and run. Trying to think of others POGS /Meth

Put some int robes on, MD access which is cheap af to make, do some int.. they’re the endgame (farming) mob and I can guarantee you trying to hunt them with 95 int which you chose to build your char like, is nowhere near as hard as a tank mage trying to hunt trolls or probably even boar’s but they haven’t had their dex reduced to make it easier.

Occasionally u get lucky and dont get many int hits from an elder mag..but on average with 80 ish int.. ur using 3-4-5 hp pots per mob. Obvs they weren't designed to be easy.. just seem a little out of kilter as to how easy the mages can handle them.

So you don’t think tank mage need to hunt boar’s or trolls? Good luck with that 171 str tank mage rofl.
I feel like that’s a pretty big exaggeration but if it’s not, then yea maybe they need some balancing - but their int shouldn’t be so low that 95 int players can hunt them with no robes, no md access and glide through them like nothing, as you say their drop-file is very nice, worth some effort you might say? When you give this example of the differences are you in any MD gear at all out of interest? I would guess no.
