Mags using int from range 1 (sometimes)

Mages don’t actually kill them that fast, we can tank them at range but the spell cast speed stops us rapidly melting them. Proc helps but is not reliable enough to drop elders fast frequently. The fastest players for dropping them I have seen are high strength rapid bow users.

Prowler trying to read your posts honestly hurts my head, well it would if I even tried but one look at the structure of it and I just disregard tbh.

However, you built a shitty build for this specific purpose, that’s your own fault - deal with it.

I agree somthing could do with tweakenin for the melee chars, dsoma dosnt realy have that choice or they would be gimped for everything else

I just wanted to start a discussion regarding this no need to start insulting peoples... Imo one type of build should not benefit on a mob that arrived after alot of chars was made I know this is hard to achive. What I feel at this moment mages doesn't really need str or dex for mags and peoples saying mellee should just do int. Anyways it would be interesting to compare how many Elder mags getting dropped in say like 10 hrs and count everything including pot run etc.

PS. There is a huge different from Elder mags and normal mags (if everyone didn't know this).

main bone of contention is.. if ur not 100 int + ... doin elders is hard work solo... If ur a mage u can tank a few at a time with relative ease.. so these elders are basically a magic mob, as mages can attack them from distance and not get hurt with mele.
Dan did ask for any input or ideas as to what he should do with these.
Any1 got ideas to make it a bit more accessible for mele guys?
Raven's idea of making a 'mele version' of them is all that looks like a viable solution
( or level a mage)
Or whack another lev cap+ 10 with some new mele and magic mobs, that drop similar items.. maybe..
*after anvil and healing had a first aid patch*

Where were u guys when mages had no mob to farm titus from without a tank at trolls or when u could go from 176 int to 200 int and maybe drop 10 total tabs that had no trade value to melee or when nm dropped absolutely nothing other than frogs while melee got med ruby dt titus proc vials status proc vials frog bitter bone oh yeah u didnt give two fucks about mages suffering then unless u had a mage and actively played it boo hoo get some int or group up

Not the right mentality to have tbf, just cos you or others have suffered in the past shouldnt stop changes for the better, cant change the past only shape the future

You can't cap a char with 50 int then expect to be able to hunt the best dropping mobs ingame

Would you cap with 50 str then moan you can't hunt blg? No you wouldn't
Would you cap with 50 int then moan you can't hunt wasps? No you wouldn't

Its your own choice you decided to do pure dex... You have it easier than everyone else to hunt trolls atleast

Whether it’s about you or you’re really fighting this battle for other low intelligence (both irl and in-game) people, your argument is totally flawed.

You sound like someone who supports participation trophies, well done you came 10th, here’s a trophy! Everyone wins just for showing up - yippee!

Even with 100 int in no MD gear, thinking you can hunt the endgame farm mob which uses magic and melee easily is just entitled and pathetic tbh. Let alone your argument that you should have 100% eva on them and never be hit with magic, but this isn’t for your benefit, this is for OTHER people! Sounds horrendous.

There is an important distinction you need to make Whoosh (though that doesn't mean a change should happen either).

Magmas are the end game 'farm reward mob', there's only one of them for both melee and magic. We often talk about making changes to not make the game easier but just to appeal to more 'builds' (and therefore a wider audience / diversify play types). Scolding or trying to say someone is 'dumb' for building a character a certain way isn't helping or moving things forward. And only suppressing someones opinion. Is there a label we can attribute to someone that does that repeatedly?

That all being said, the original magmas were / are a team based monsters and thats why things like whelps came to be to force team play - that is until people made the concertive effort to be able to solo them. Soma has some great aspects too it but it is also very unfinished and undeveloped, leaving issues like "this" that can't really be helped without different farming mobs.

Does it though reinforce that DEX by itself is too over powered a stat for the game? Myth of bows, one way training with dex in hsoma for 99% of none mage characters, frequent crying of lack of bows - but not other weapons. As a result steep dex requirement walls of higher bands of monsters with high aattack make them untankable and it being about 'evasion/accuracy' game, not STR/DF/Attack, nullifying the existence of STR first builds. And oddly enough people don't see this point when they cap and say "its not an issue" because they "built their character sensibly, so I'm ok". Gfg, how boring and drone-like.

I tried them for the 1st time last night, haven't stayed on longer than 30 minutes on sabre since cap. Was there for about 3 hours last night, defo has encouraged me to start playing again. Luckily as a mage I have no issues hunting them. I can see why they would hurt low int players as They hurt me at 200+ int
