Communities views for staff aura

an AOE aura that would stop other people in range(maybe exclude party members?) from casting a spell/aura or attacking at all for 2 seconds would b gd. would mean mages will need run head first into danger to get that off before the rest of ur crew joined in so they werent hit with it aswell. or make it int based. where the duration differs on int gap.

Weapons shouldn’t be capped at +5 nothing wrong with how it is now at +8.......

It’s the recoils of each weapon type that should be capped.

4th Staff - the same as Dsoma? Where you can cast for a period of time without getting interupted.

5th Staff - ??? Maybe just a recoloured 3rd staff aura which adds 7-10 Magic attack.

Demons ideas -
Staff aura like the protection spell raise physical defence for a time period.

Staff 5th aura - that makes all damage you get for 5-7 seconds come out of your MP bar not HP? (really like this idea ;D)

Staff aura that teleports you to a mob/player that you click on the screen in a certain range? Could be a idea for a spell as well and call it Blink.

Flawless's idea -

Spell reflect aura - reflect all melee for a short time or reflect a % for a longer time.

There could be a long quest line tied in with the new Boss/monsters incoming? To get the new spells ( a community competition could be announced, whomever has the most createful quest lore line wins rested exp pots etc as the reward.

New spell ideas - ???

Black - A 'blind' which makes the opponent less accurate.( which can be serum'd ofc)

Black - A purge spell which lowers your vitals(hp/mp)/md/df/att/ma/df
and drains your stam?

White - A snare/slow which makes you walk instead of run for a few seconds.

Blue spell - New attack spell with a high int requirement - 200 int? Better damage than DB.

White - a cleanse that has a 30 minute cool down but it can cleanse 3rd/5th axe stone? Maybe a bit op? Long c/d though so can't be spammed. Long cast time as well?
Flicks idea for this spell - a long casttime spell that protects you from being 5th'd for a set number of seconds, or 30 second cooldown instant break-out of 5th. Or perhaps it uses a feather mechanic that can be cast while 5th'd.

Demon's idea for a Black spell (imo) - what about something like a curse spell where if you're cursed the damage you deal out 50% of that will hurt you?

- from.a old thread I made back in like 2017? This was before new proc was introduced though ..

Test server should be put up to test how the balance is first before anything is added imo

I think if the guranteed cast is added to Hsoma then it should be updated that it cannot 1 hit people and instead a damage that would have usually 1 hit them from more than 75% HP should leave the player hit on 1hp left as a rough example or 50% instead of 75%?

I feel this isnt a massive issue on Dsoma as the spells are slower and dont have as much range where as a mage on hsoma with the cast aura would just be boring zzzz

Looks like Zyzz really likes mages, I did wonder why they kept getting buffed

Hsoma only goes up to 3rd staff ..

Personally I'd want something different from dsomas 4th staff, a blink aura would sick imo for a 5th then for 4th a reflect dmg aura maybe.

A blink aura sounds nice, should be a short cool down though like 2nd spear

Or increased cast speed?

What I would like to see is to keep 3rd aura up at same time like melee keep dodge and 4th together

Raven, I stayed in the original post that I was gathering ideas about staff solely because it is so controversial and divisive. No one is arguing about sword or bow auras, etc, people may have their views on certain weapons but none divide community as much as say staff getting guaranteed cast. Also when I referenced +5 weapons I meant speed upgrades obviously 😀

I’m all in favour of mages getting an extra aura or 2 but I think the guaranteed hit would be far to over powered and before we get the mages can’t cast against all the archers, well an archer can only hit 1 player at a time..........

If you think archers are over powered with there machine gun bows maybe that’s because they usually go round in groups, just think how powerful a group of mages would be plus guaranteed hit now that would be insane, be like old times in esoma mages rule???

Edit Finito has the power to cap all weapon types recoil, if that was done that would be controversial no doubt but I think that would solve a lot of the problems.

I agree guaranteed hit would be a bit too powerful, mainly due to proc.

remove proc and add a staff aura that increases cast speed up to 200% (100% first, use sacred aura spirit to get 200%) with a long cooldown
