The new craft cap 250???

Atm, as it stands i have 1 x 200 wep on a char , 1 x 200 acc on a different char BUT i decided with a noob 200 pot and on way to 200 arm. With the increase i will managed 200 - 250 but the other skill in regards of sr ( 200 - 70 ) will go down ending only in 1 set for the sr's?
Or if we look at the others. 200-70-70 ( 32 ish left in a random area ) instead of having 4 srs in 3 area's in order to achieve the 250 kill you MUST lose 1 area to which u need sr to.

I had a little word with Mr Finito and atm cook / pot dont have a change in making upgrades as to arm/acc/wep with regards to tags.
So with that being the case and im sure i wont be ( or hope i wont be ) the only 1 who done the 200 - 200 with a cook or pot with a General craft ( arm/acc/wep)- could the over all craft cap increase so we can go for the 250 - 250 , or can go further and have a mega reward with it being open for crafters tocaim for maybe 3 out of the 5 250 skill areas to reach 250 each to which if you dont you can still have at least 1 250 followed by 70-70 still for you 3 sets for sr?

Just my opinion and a few ideas i had in mind. Not sure if others would agree or as hard core :P

What I would say is that we’re always willing to listen to ideas. I did like the dismantle idea (my knowledge of crafting isn’t great so will need your assistance).


You say you are willing to listen to idea's but very very rarely are they ever discussed let alone implemented. Your actions directly contradict your words

This is a thread i made to manage all of the great idea's the community had provided, either on the forum or they had provided me when I asked them "how would you improve the game?". To which there was a single reply of "done" to a few points. No other input from a GM to say what points were good, bad and which ones flat out weren't going to be done.

This has happened to thousands of other posts in the idea's and suggestions forum which has been a dumping ground for some really amazing idea's over the years, alas they are ignored and the community becomes more and more frustrated.

You are 100% correct, alot of the idea's in that forum and in my post probably have no place in Soma. That's why you NEED the GM's to comment and communicate with the community so the players don't feel like they're wasting their time by managing their expectations not seemingly ignoring them

What I did in that post is something the GM's should be doing, doesn't have to be weekly, monthly or daily like I was doing updates. It can be every 3, 6 or 12 months if time is an issue. There's so many fantastic idea's (from a players point of view) which are totally ignored by the GM's, even if they have 30/40 comments from the community.

Appreciate the feedback Fez, I honestly tackled what I could on that list and what I thought was right. I appreciate the frustration and that it comes from the right place.

Also we’re not perfect and perhaps it needs a further look. Just setting expectation of capacity and skill set at the same time.

So are mat restocks being increased or?

A real QoL change for crafters is materials restock being increased or the frequency in which they appear increased.

Also in terms of cook / pot chars with both skills on there, there is no need to worry as 200 is the highest needed for success at making upgrades, finito has confirmed there is no use going to 250.

The amount of materials needed to make shak tier weapons I think could be adjusted slightly, there was a post in a thread somewhere which went on materials needed and shak weaps over apus (even stinger tier) were far higher increases than say apus to bow of force and down to blood bow (Akah and cbof I don’t know about) so I would propose making the materials needed slightly less, as Lupi says, making 5 bows per run to the anvil is extremely tedious and when 4/5 are untagged and the 5th fails you soon loose interest. Whereas being able to carry maybe 8 or 9 attempts would really help. Maybe base it on the average bag weight of a capped char with a principle crafters robe which is roughly 1470 or there abouts.

Personally I don’t see any issue with those proposals, we’ve had faster rates for levelling, more quests for items for upgrades, why not more mats in shops and lower amounts per craft for crafters?

In reality: The reason it hasn’t happened previously is that fin and I always talked about making farming a usable thing

Fishing, mining, chopping down trees (people remove trees anyway right?). Etc

It’s actually come to light again by that epic rpg thing we added to discord other day.

You mean a way for us to gather materials aside from buying in a shop?

I appreciate that’s a nice idea but the majority of us who craft also hunt along side the char which is crafting. I know myself and many others wouldn’t give up my hunting time to go and hunt materials down for a few hours to then spend a few hours crafting.

Thanks for taking my rants in the right way, I appreciate the chance to discuss more in detail. I’m working on the Wednesday but am happy to sort another time.

The disassemble idea is a good source to generate mats for crafters even though it’s abit time consuming but I believe it would help.

If all items craftable and there dropped equivalent where made so that we could disassemble them your looking at a decent amount of resources.

All armours up to bitter bone.

All Weapons up to shak tier

All accessories to a certain tier.

Edit - I will say this before anymore post, one thing I have is respect for iSylver he does take on board players thoughts, ideas etc not every suggestion or idea is in the best interest of Soma.

It’s been awhile since I did any disassemble at anvil but it used to work like this...

If item used so 15 metal you could get back 14 metal

If it used 12 wood you could get back 12 wood and so on and so

You could even go as far as get all mats back minus 1 of each mat type to help generate more.

But think if you can only carry so 4 or 5 attempts at making shak tier and they all spit out untag it’s very soul destroying if you could disassemble them and get some/majority back to try again it would be a great help.

Things like orions eye, etc all are unused, left on floor etc these are also good sources to break up to generate mats.

"ISYLVER"The chance of rolling a chance of a tag vs a guaranteed tag chance is different. Hence why we removed the 35% number as it confused people.

E.g it’s 35% chance that it’ll roll a tag and if so 44% could be hardened etc. There is still a chance of an untag in that roll.


Thats good to know but can we have the breakdown of % distribution for each tag if a 35% procs?

So are we being told that double tabs is 80% at 200 skill? I assume it was like 55-60% success rate and 250 would allow us to cap etc.
