The new craft cap 250???

Always nice to see the crafters of soma getting some love and attention, but this news asks a question or 2 or 3....

Is the total craft cap still 450 or has it increased?

Does the 250 craft cap give any increase at the anvil with upgrading?

With level 130 having close to 1400 bag weight plus if they have the 200 skill robes that’s nearly 1500 bag weight, will the restocks be increased at all, cause all it will take is 2 or 3 players to empty certain mats in a couple of seconds?

I’ve heard the extra 50 skill in the metal crafts will give an additional 5% chance on making a tag crafted item? The tag system when crafting already seems broke or at least on the low chance side, 5% doesn’t seem much of an incentive.

What if any benefit is there for cooks, potion crafters going for an extra 50 skill? Last time I checked breads, pots etc don’t have any tags?

Edit - forgot to ask, are there any slowdowns to 250?

hmm pretty sure i read last night on the news.... if u reached 250 skill u would get a 35% chance of a tagged weapon....
that seems to have been revoked to a ' higher chance'
which is a serious reduction....
pff.... no idea

This 250 craft skill is a pretty serious undertaking to take on.......
Some absolute definites and rewards would be welcome....
the 35% chance of a tag has disappeared over night... permission to speak freely ...wtf has happened to that guvnor?

It did indeed say 35% and was promptly edited out which leads me to believe the value was nerfed after thinking it could be too good, we cant have that when it comes to time to reward ratio ;p

That said 35% more hard tags dont mean anything regardless. At the moment the only items worth crafting are uncraftable.

I like the mag mats only theme but less of them the way soul rings work.

Be ready to have pot or cook hard stuck at 250 and 200. Better get started on a new char to recraft back to 200 for the one you dont choose to do (pot)

Its 35% chance to roll for a tag.5% more than if at 200. You’ve also got the other benefits of more craft skill dura etc.

And to be clear nothing has been reversed in regards to crafting. Fake news lupi.

So it’s a 30% chance to roll a tag at 200 craft skill?

It hasn’t felt like a 30% chance on getting a tag, can burn through thousands of mats and not get a tag.

Any slowdowns during the 200 to 250???

It’s a 30% chance of a roll.

Yes but a small slowdown

"ISYLVER"It’s a 30% chance of a roll.

Yes but a small slowdown

So would that mean there’s just 1 slowdown?

So no increase in success rate at anvil for the extra 50 craft skill?

No increase in total craft skill cap?

No increase in mat restocks?

So it’s just 50 extra craft skill in armour or accessory or weapon craft for a 5% more chance of rolling a tag and an extra 100-150ish dura?

Edit - many players me included made a character for crafting cooking and potions when the goal was 200 craft skill cap, now that your changing the goal posts to 250 cap players will no doubt have to choose which 1 to take to 250 and which to leave at 200, Forcing players to potential having to make another character to get the other craft to 250 skill that they can’t on there original pot/cook crafter because you’ve changed the goal posts.

Would have made more sense to increase total craft cap also by 50, cause as it stands those players that did a cook/pot crafter have just wasted hundreds of hours of there time to have the goal posts moved.

I’ve invested thousands and thousands of hours crafting in the lands of soma, and I have to say time invested versus rewards doesn’t cut it anymore, the chance of crafting tag definitely doesn’t feel like 30% it’s more like under 10%, not enough mats in shops to buy to keep all crafters busy, not enough mats drop from mobs.

A crafter speeds 95% of there ingame time wasted, and 5% on actually being able to craft,

The chance of rolling a chance of a tag vs a guaranteed tag chance is different. Hence why we removed the 35% number as it confused people.

E.g it’s 35% chance that it’ll roll a tag and if so 44% could be hardened etc. There is still a chance of an untag in that roll.

I appreciate your explanation and clearing up the confusion with the 35% but when you spend hundreds of hours gathering enough mats up to have a crafting session of about an hour I have to say the results is demoralising when you come away with very little reward and majority of the time the ability to make a tag seems well below 10% it absolutely kills any enjoyment for me personally. At times I feel like my hands are tied and banging my head, soma has a great crafting potential and when all you want to do is craft but can’t cause the rewards versus time spent getting enough mats it’s frustrating, having the goal posts moved is I have to say feels like a kick in the teeth for me personally.

Apologies for my rants, I just can’t see any incentive at moment to spend hundreds of hours for very little reward.

Appreciate the feedback.

What I would say is that we’re always willing to listen to ideas. I did like the dismantle idea (my knowledge of crafting isn’t great so will need your assistance).

One point to note is that with the new weapons. Gorshak tier weapons will be sought after further. Meaning crafters could arguably benefit by this.

I’m free weds night so ping some ideas across and let’s see what I can do to make crafting a little more thankful.

to ease the pain a little...
1. increase the frequency of supplies at the merchants a little.. maybe add a mrs pold.. or pold junior as a 2nd metal merchant to stock at the times pold doesn't.
With the bagweights of the higher lev players now .. lower levs have virtually no chance of getting enough mats.
The idea has been asked for many times of more mats.. maybe time to give a little flexibility and generosity in this regard.

2.add a 5th sr for 250 skill

3. decrease the amount of mats needed for the shak weps.. so can carry more than 4 or 5 attempts to the forge

4. an increase of upgrade success at the anvil.. if that's possible.

5. increase total crafting skills to 500 so players don't have to lose some of their current skills, or can do two to the max of 250

all in all it's a welcome addition
thankyou
