I'm only casting at three when I think I should be casting at more ;o for e.g there's 6 EGFs but my hellfire only hits three of them please help Dsoma mages :3

It could hit 8. But you need a tank and aim at the middle.

Ok, I'll take a screenshot, and Basil I had Kekket/Chromex/Nik0lka tanking for me (whilst they were hunting) I aimed at the middle of the head/body and still hits 3 I'll take a screenshot when I'm on.

Mobs need to be directly lined up with the target. So mobs who are diagonally or straight next to the target that you cast on will be hit.
As said before 9 targets can only be hit if you target someone who is surrounded by 8 mobs. If you are alone the best you can do is manouvre the mobs to target up to 6 ish mobs. I doubt this is worth the time / effort though.

As Ghost said it only hits other mobs next to the one you're targetting. As you have the curser over a mob with only two mobs directly next to it, you're only hitting three mobs.
In the first pic if you targetted the mob either right or left of the one directly above you, you'd have been hitting 4 mobs.

I've lined up 6 before and it still hits 4, it this bugged or is it nerfed or am I doing something wrong?

Doing it wrong.

i had 5 set up perfectly and it still only hit 4, i did it the same way i have done it for 10 levels and it still doesnt hit the 5 mobs i have round me.
have it like this forgive the crap diagram lol: mob2 mob3 mob4 mob1 me mob5 hf-x hits mobs 1 2 3 and 5 and misses mob 4 for some reason, i aim at mob 3 like i always have theres defo a bug since the fix to stop people surrounding with mobs to kill bosses
