The amount of dsoma archers is nauseating.

is there anything that can be done to prevent people playing this class? dsoma is just a race of clones. They kill faster than other classes, have the same 4th aura, are dexy as hell and just so boring to see EVERYWHERE. something needs to be done soon, it's #boring

No, if someone wants to play a particular class, they should be able to.

What is troubling is that there is almost no down-side from playing an archer as they have range, high dex and damage.

What should happen, if anything at all, is make it evident that there are differences aside what your weapon LOOKS like.

Axes should do the most damage, by quite a margin, followed by spear, then sword, bow and lastly knuckle.

As it stands, axes have nigh identical attack to spear/sword.

Creating a noticeable attack difference in weapons would be the best long-term approach.

Immediate changes would really upset a lot of people, as you mentioned so many people play archer - that aside, there is a problem of everyone doing similar damage yet archers have extra benefits on top.

doesn't help they have the easiest route to their last 2 endgame weapons... archer shouldn't have a mob in minotaurs that PURELY drop their last 2 weapons. I been at mino's for 100% and had 2 tagged malefic bows and 3 untagged. not great tags but seriously? I spent 1200% at tark pallies for a spear that never dropped.

I have a lvl 32 archer as my first character on this server, but when i realised i was playing Myth of Bowma, i decided to create a sword instead. And anyway, 5th sword is way better than 5th bow!

they nerfed sword before live server because it would of been a server full of swordies, but neglected how overpowered archers are. The only deterrent for me and archer is because they're just so boring but they need knocking down a peg in damage terms

RNG is RNG - Our guild's had several epic Executioner spears and Bloodthirst Spears, conversely, only 1 epic Malefic and no Epic Grims. Despite a monster that drops nothing but...

Giant Lizardmen drop Knuckle of Havoc and Devastation.

Tarkilhi warriors drop Executioner Spears and Staves of Nightfall.

Swords are the most common drop by a country mile from Conti Altered Beasts.

the ENTIRE minotaur spawn in conti is divided in two, left side drops PURELY grim bows, right side PURELY malefic bows. theres no RNG needed when you're mob only drops the weap you need, with high chances :o

What I was saying is that there is no shortage of any particular classes type of weapon.

Minotaurs will be outgrown relatively quickly and so the window of hunting for their weapon is smaller than that of hunting Altered Beasts for the other weapon types.

There are dedicated spawns for most weapon types.

Some Tarkilhi paladin spawns drop Spears, others drop Swords etc.
Same applies to Tarkilhi warriors, Giant Lizardmen, Gargoyle Shaman even (in dungeon).

If you knew exactly what and WHERE to hunt, you wouldn't have a problem.
Your problem is that everyone knows where Minotaurs are and what spawn drops what weapon.

I used to have a Database with spawn locations/item drops, had I still access to it, i'd be glad in sharing with you where exactly you should hunt for a spear... Alas, I don't. So experiment.

I was in the spear spot, at tark pallies :p I had 2 untagged spears in 12 lvls there lol

Something like this really needs to be looked into.. a ranged attack + the best possible stats without punching? How is it that axers have to PUNCH to achieve better defense? or even to catch up in str endgame? That really irks me about the style, archers have to do literally NO punching and reach capped stats essentially, whereas Axe, which should easily obtain the most str at the cost of their dex, has to eventually punch upwards of 60% per level to reach the stats?

Can ANYONE explain how/why that works?

Archers should be nerfed, they are unfair to everyone who didn't have the option to play one...
