Death drops

Author Content Date
I mentioned this in a thread before. I'm also aware of the irony in my making the post with the helm and the top not to mention the other items acquired recently.

But are death drops required outwith rvr and force warp? Only time it will EVER happen is during a lag out ...

Thoughts?

I agree. It only seems to be punish a disconnection.

But I don't know if server could distinguish between a force warp and a normal one?

If u feel like that, then why not give them drops back , as if they never were intended to drop?

Because the drop losses we have lost were never returned to us, so why should we return to people who won't do the same

Secret dropped lots of gear through a server fault and the guys who took just laughed.... its kind of ironic when it happens to them

The way the game currently works it is intended to happen. It was the fruits of my labour.
Just asking people's view on it changing to no drops. Personally I don't see the point. I'm aware of the items that have dropped over the coming days - just asking the world if they think it should continue or be changed.
However for the avoidance of doubt - previous items won't be returned. I don't even feel bad about that. To potentially prevent it happening again - let's discuss

I still value items above everything, losing it to a drop is just quit worthy, there just to hard to get

I think having to run bk to your hunting spot and the shame on the feed is enough

But that's what ppl go raiding for, as pos has no value

Rvr I think is fair. Force warp I think is fair for botting etc. (ROFL A FT MEMBER hAHA etc)
But dc loss is the only real unavoidable item loss. Some items people have would require insane hours to recoup and may be quit worthy.

RvR drops should remain.
But inter-race item drops are always down to lag or dc. I think it would be a good change that would benefit everyone.
Let's just put the recent item drop deaths down to karma and move on.

To address this really have to talk about everything else that is "quit worthy". For example:

- Breaking intense xbow whilst upgrading (we feel for you rich)
-The upgreade system overall is quit worthy. Why you ask?, well you need 150 weapon, armour or accessories skill if you want to get anywhere. On top of that you need high pot and cooking skill for the best success rates for making your upgrades. So right from this start you are basically forced (imo) to get crafting skill.
-Breaking weapons or armour when they run out of dura. This specially suckss for those who managed to survived the 2nd point here.

Yes I know there will be counter arguments but I see more good than bad if these points I've made are looked at.
Also I see simpler balancing factors that can be added if these points above are 're-worked. For example Max weapon speed to A+, armour upgrade to 3+ and the rest of the upgrades to 5. Let's say you can upgrade w.o having to worry about breaking anything then mages will argue that they won't be able to cast at all. Then I would suggest adding 4th aura like dsoma but with a longer time period of un-interruption.

Feel free to trash my idea but imo breaking stuff that takes ages to get won win any new faces anytime soon. Most new faces quit at the thought of all the grind XD

Now to the point. Yes I agree that things should only drop rvr. Again, it won't benefit this game at all if it's Breaking and dropping all our gear.

100% Pk drops should be turned off. Only reason they occur is due to dc (at least on hsoma), which is ridiculously harsh considering how hard it is to obtain top tier gear, not to mention upgrade it.

Leave it as it is. The majority of people who dc drop are playing multiple characters.

Better system would be to actually change resis

Suggestion:
Lose the chance to drop items that you can equip - whether you carry them on your person or in your inventory.

If we do this though I would like to double or triple barr loss and increase the chance of non-equippables to be dropped. That way when you are hunting you can only lose your loot and not your equipment.

What are your thoughts?

I'd say make it so that the only times you can drop items are when you've maxed penalty or when you die to the opposing race.

Could you make it so resis can either revive you as the normally do or if you press warp give you no loss? Sometimes I know people are gonna grief pk me so I'd like the option to warp without drop loss... Just a thought

This could be good, have it so it uses a resis if you warp or revive, and if you warp you don't drop anything, yet if you don't have resis on you and you click warp, you still drop stuff, this way it would work for dc deaths also.
