"YOSHIMITSU"Well there needs to be changes, a level 100 archer has 16 less then the cap of strength, whats the point in other classes ... ?


Nailed it, which is the main why I feel like I've wasted all those hours with sword and I really wish that wasn't the case because this is a decent server. I actually have an archer at nearly level 75 because I felt as if I had to reroll.

I would love to have a dsoma alt when I want to get some rested on hsoma or if I fancy a complete change of scenery for a bit but just refuse to do it as I know Carn quit (I want to go sword or spear) due to the very reason this thread was started.

Its probably the most pressing matter in dsoma right now and needs urgent attention, players are leaving and when players are leaving on hsoma due to griefing or w/e action is taken so time needs spent here discussing ingame with seasoned devils or on forums or chat function.

Another idea similar to 1)

Where you could cap DEX at certain points for classes IF possible for only Player vs Player situations, so you wouldn't have to touch f9 stats. Like I stated in other threads it would be greatly appreciated if Finito has some spare time on his hands, could he tell us what kind of limits does he have with the emulator development wise?

If you could link Fin to this thread Ghost when he's available that would help a lot thanks.

For example the Archer class would be capped at 120 dex(remember Archers still have range 7/8 bows, Knuck 118, Sword 116, Spear 114, Mage/Axer 112 (these numbers are only examples)

This way PvE wouldn't be affected for classes and classes would be somewhat balanced, players/gamemasters must remember DEX is the most important stat if you as the lowest melee Str gainer(Archer) can cap Lvl at 200+ Str/200+dex.

Jarag even stated that he estimated Knuckle would cap around 170 dex thats THIRTY less dex than a Archer... imagine the other classes trying to compete....

Waiting til Lv100 is not a option if you want balance.

That's assuming you stop gaining stats at 200 STR.

If STR continues to go up normally (key word, NORMALLY) until 216 STR then Knuckle is looking at just barely over 180 DEX (still 20 less DEX).

If, on the other hand, STR simply hits a massive slowdown at 200 (meaning DEX/INT/CON etc. still go up independently), then Knuckle should be able to reach 200 DEX (or get very close to it). The other classes have no chance, though (even if they punch, at most Axe is looking at 150-160 DEX; that's assuming they can bear the 50+ hour punch levels from 80 to 100).

Some confirmation of what actually happens after 200 STR would be nice (at the moment we've got Ghost saying it goes up normally after 200, and in reality we have 187 saying it doesn't; quite frankly, I'm more inclined to believe 187 on this matter).

Also to add to this point, thats 30 less dex and at most you could only have 216 strength, which is 30 less dex and 16 more strength. Considering dex is the most important stat, this is obviously wrong is it not?

That being said change is needed right.... Jarag ? Being told "Hey just wait til your Lv100 it might be balanced then"(When infact it clearly WONT BE) Obviously doesn't matter that Lv70-100 is completely fucking unbalanced right... ? ¬_¬

Well, like I said in the other thread, I'm willing to wait it out (just leveling rested here and there). But other players are not willing to waste hundreds of hours. When people around you start quitting it tends to demotivate you.

Surely if axers will have 40/50 less Dex there's no debate in "just waiting it out" for them, same for story spear/mage/sword

The problem with the whole wait til classes get to level 100 thing is that no one is prepared to invest their time doing so judging by the current balance and most stop playing well before then.

A lot say to me well level til 100 things might be different, I'm not going to invest yet more of my time leveling up to 100 to find out things have barely changed there's no sense in it.

Exactly. I can name several people in my guild that have quit/become inactive well before level 100 due to this (or partially due to this).

Fin has a staging server, change the rates, do 1 of each class and confirm via screenshots. Its not even arm chair game mastering at this point, you can increase the usercount by doing this and if there is an issue, post a resolution instead of "lvl till 100 on rested and continue with 5 people at gvw eachweek"

I could do some lvling on the test server but honestly I don't think it's needed. I've already made a stat projection for the GM's and Fin has already assured me multiple times that STR goes as it should.

If you can do some leveling for each class on x100 rates or something then post the results I'm sure it would help alot of people out as atm Dsoma is 'Goodluck hitting an archer'

Dosnt change the fact archer at 100 has 200 str/dex where as axe will have 216 str and only around 160 dex, so even if str is bugged at 200, 16 more str not going to do enough for that 40 dex advantage

Axe won't even end up with 160 if they do then it's pretty much a punch axer lol.
