Post your idea's - Balancing Devil classes due to dex issues and a WotW/Conti % tweak after?

Instead of making pointless threads in 'General Discussion', let's discuss it in a constructive manner here.

Personally waiting til lvl 110++ for classes to balance out is ridiculous way of thinking (the reason why they balance if people didn't know is they all get 200 dex in the end.)

I'm not talking about a 100% balanced game but at the moment Dsoma may as well be ArcherSoma imo.

What can be done?

1) Dex capped much earlier thus balancing Devil Classes WAY before Lvl 110++ For example 115/120/130? (Meaning Human warriors would be able to hit other Dsoma players and Human dex mages would be able to have some evasion against Devils)

1a) With that change in effect you could up the WotW % for Devil's.

2) Another idea similar to 1)

Where you could cap DEX at certain points for classes IF possible for only Player vs Player situations, so you wouldn't have to touch f9 stats. Like I stated in other threads it would be greatly appreciated if Finito has some spare time on his hands, could he tell us what kind of limits does he have with the emulator development wise?

If you could link Fin to this thread Ghost when he's available that would help a lot thanks.

Back to the idea -

For example the Archer class would be capped at 120 dex(remember Archers still have range 7/8 bows, Knuck 118, Sword 116, Spear 114, Mage/Axer 112 (these numbers are only examples)

This way PvE wouldn't be affected for classes and classes would be somewhat balanced, players/gamemasters must remember DEX is the most important stat if you as the lowest melee Str gainer(Archer) can cap Lvl at 200+ Str/200+dex.

Jarag even stated that he estimated Knuckle would cap around 170 dex thats THIRTY less dex than a Archer... imagine the other classes trying to compete....

Waiting til Lv100 is not a option if you want balance.

3) New mob's so that classes such as axe and spear can actually train with there weapon til the Level cap.

I'll update this first post with other people's idea as well.

Some info:
Lvl cap is 100.
Stat and gain changes are to be avoided as much as possible - if not at all.
DSoma archers will always be king of dex.

I saw S0rc post an idea where the absolute maximum possible evasion achievable on anyone should be capped at 70%.

It would mean DSoma classes Axe, Spear and Sword can actually hit Archers.

It would also mean HSoma melee would actually be able to hit Archers.

This should only be a PvP change, ofc. But there are still some serious PvE issues on the DSoma side that this would not fix.

Archers have the highest dex(miles ahead) and have range 7/8 bows. Something needs to be done.

Edit - My idea seems to balance out most issues though, WotW (Humans being able to hit devils and having some evasion meaning Devil % could be upped) and Devil Classes would pretty much be fixed with my 1) change.

I'm also looking forward to other idea's though.

If dex were to have a cap of around the 110 mark then I'd love to see their attack upped.
I don't play a dev so I am not sure how this would play out at wotw but on the likes of conti when raiding it could result in some really good human vs devil pvp rather than just annoyance.

I suspect someone will mention human MA over devil MD but again - I don't play a dev to know the extents of the damage dealt when a human is raiding. All I know is 187 hurts constantly and it's best to peg it should he come on screen ;[

edit - by capped i mean at wotw and raiding only.

This. What is str cap on dsoma that isylver quoted? As we've already seen a level 100 archer has 200 str and 200 dex, can isylver put screenies of a level 100 axer/swordie/knuckle/spear? This would help everyone judge the stats difference. As he said, a lot of people have already quit dsoma because the level cap isn't going to be raised for quite some time and archers at level 100 are already so near cap, so saying every other class will catch up later on just tells everyone "tough luck, wait for a year or two for cap to be raised"

Sylver never claimed to wait until lvl 110. He said in the matter of some issues (after the STR/INT change) that you'll have to wait till we see more lvl 100's first. What this means is give the updates time to settle. It doesn't necessarily mean you don't see any updates or class changes until then.

STR cap on DSoma is 216. I can tell this 100% certainty.

As for the comments on people who have stopped lvling - Ive actually seen an increase in axe users and some old characters were returning. We will see more balance - but in time.

Anyway I seem to have started something that I didn't plan for. Let's move back onto suggestions. Personally I like the quote from s0rcerer's idea.

No Class want's to have to wait til Lvl 100 to see if there's any balance (if any) :p

Set dex hard stop 215 and it will fix itself between levels 100 - 200.

Well there needs to be changes, a level 100 archer has 16 less then the cap of strength, whats the point in other classes ... ?
