Lower the state bonus gained from +50 to something more manageable so you don't need to level a tank or healer.

Bonus mobs are gone past what? Nightmares and blg anyway? and new mobs will not have a bonus stat element?

Minimal changes required and not remaking the wheel

but that would be tweaking whats already past, so any new player would be worse off

how?

I'm only talking about changing the mob they hunt not the stats they gain.

So, you still get the exact same stat gains as whoever came before and after you, only you dont need to struggle against a mob that is 50str stronger than you just to keep up with anyone else who had eva, a tank and/or a healer.

some players have used healers..or tanks to hunt blg @ 65-70 dex ..they take a long time to kill and ppl have invested a lot of time into trying to get these bonuses from hi lev mobs.. Dont wana see that disappear.. or indeed, ppl getting same bonuses by investing no time or effort

basicly whats going to happen to dsoma....................

either way ppl have hunted on 50+ str mobs and benafited, taking that away so others cant is wrong imo

its only for a proportion of mobs,
its not a given
it wont carry through to new content
its gone in dsoma

for the same reasons as with punching it serves no purpose but to enlarge folks e-pen

and if it was truely intended for us to fight +50 mobs we would have better def or stupider mob ai like abs/ebs

I agree with lupi on this, I'm in the process of making a new char and I'll be doing 50+ mobs for it and I'll be gutted if it all changes and I've wasted hours for nothing. I think the 50+ mobs work just fine at the moment, if you want to put the effort in then they are there if not hunt the alternatives until your ready for next mob.

But it can't just be made easier for new players.

well perhaps sylv or fin would like to weigh in like they did with the punching on dsoma to see how significant it is

I would say extremely significant... I got 27str so far using the +30/50 bonus and it took forever... Wait until you try use the bonus mobs, you'll realize you could get x5 the stats in the same time... So it has a big difference.

Str:
> 50 x1.7 (x2 if the hit kills npc) stat rate for Str.
>= 30 x1.4 and x1.7
>=10 x1.2 and x1.5
>= -10 x1.0
>= -15 x0.8
>= -30 x0.5
<= -31 x0.0 (Cap)

Int:
> 30 x1.7 and x2
>= 15 x1.4 and x1.7
>= 5 x1.2 and x1.5
>= -10 x1.0
>= -20 x0.8
>= -30 x0.5
<= -31 x0.0 (Cap)

Without the rate changes it will just be (happens currently on new mobs for devil soma)

<= -31 x0.0 (Cap) (Cannot cap highest mobs on devil soma though)

We cannot undo what the stat rate change has done to character stats which is annoying because cannot fix level 1-100. Might have to add level restriction to new monsters because existing characters could have used them to get stats at better rate.

This sounds like.. under lev 101's cant gain stats from new mobs? Which sounds sensible tbh

I like the idea of level restrictions. I would make the new mobs so you can only hunt them at lvl 101 or put them on a new map with a level requirement. Any further progress? ^_^

if this is adopted, then there will need to be several dispersed locations - on different maps maybe - of each new mob to allow that everyone over 100 will want to hunt them at the same time..............

2 large ish spawns should be enough with a 3rd on conti

BLG spawns are both terrible with more than 2 players there, if trying to make a new mob that'll be a very busy hunting ground, the main thing to be looked at is respawn rate. Perhaps something like dsoma AB hunting, nice spread out hunting rather than a clustered group, along with good respawn rate, if it's needed. A new map would be ideal.
