DSoma stat change feedback

Author Content Date
Personally I'd prefer to lower the guides so points are spent elsewhere. It would also help with the disparity in RVR but perhaps I'm biased from a hsoma point of view. On the flip side this would mean lowering reqs too.

As a devil point of view im not gonna be happy if this happens current guide already lower then i currently have in str. Toss in the con for def change and points are needed there big time to have the same i have now. Then int/wis needs points 2 ofc and now i am like 150 points short of what i currently have. That is a big nerf already. I dont go wotw now as im getting 2 banged by dozen of mages and i defnetly not going on test as i would be doing 10 dmg if i stack on int/wis.

Now that was rvr

If i look @ pvp inside dsoma its also gotten worse.
First my mage has some ok gear with some +es on it. With new patch patch i would be losing this gear as i cant wear dread supreme or invu anymore. Wich i stated earlyer i stacked str and con to get hardened armour, now i dueled with knux and axe and the knuckler drops me in 2 hits and the axer leaves me kissing the floor in 1 hit and that is with con/str stacked.
If i do it the other way round my axer has 10 hp left after 1 hit as i cant wear diablo or omni gear.
For my knuckler its like 70% dmg taken in 1 hit.

Personaly i think the test made it worse atm rvr wise devils will end up with lower int(ish) and humans will be able to get more int/str in patch 2 do the gap between magic dmg vs devils gets bigger and the MD of devils get lower.

Also the armour/robe req change to con/wis is worth testing i think.

Live server more balanced atm then test.

Before any major changes are made I do think we need to get some people to attend WoW / GVW on the test server. Theorycrafting is helpful, but it is still, only theory.

Also please don't forget WoW uses the % system. If devils are too weak, humans will lose %. And you will be fighting at 100% rather than the current %.

The 2nd point should not be used as an excuse for getting the balance wrong in the first place though.

Correct. This is why non of the patch notes mention balance.

You're right on the money here. However, before we touch RvR, Finito and myself will work on internal balance first. The first step for this test server was to see how well it worked and to make a start with the changes.

We have no intention of releasing this patch before it's been improved greatly. There's still a lot to do.

I point out the imbalance and ridiculousness of your patch idea.

You ban me.

You create a test server implementing your changes, this simply proves me to have been correct.

I cannot resist but to point this out.

You ban me.

Having a good day Dan? :)

You complain about needed changes, without proper alternative ideas.

You get banned for negativity.

You stay silent for a while, then complain again without proper ideas, just for the sake of complaining and stopping progress / change.

You get banned for negativity and demoralising the GM's as well as the community.

You cannot resist to be negative once again without a shred of usefulness.

Having a good day, Hass? Because ours is great.

You seem to want to change the game beyond all recognition, ignore all of the problems and imbalance that was foreseen in these proposed ideas and now that people are beginning to see that these predictions were correct, you take this on as negative?

What makes me post in the manner that I do? You guys don't actually give two sh*ts about feedback, so rather than put effort into posting what could be improved, I reply to you guys with the contempt you portray.

It is quite clear that neither of you have a modicum of understanding on how to balance the game otherwise this idea wouldn't have even made it to test.

The fact this patch will make everyone out to be clones, change pvp into 1 hit KOs, render all items useless is enough to have killed the idea, but you guys just don't know what you're doing.

Oh well, at least we have Finito who's a wizard with the technical side. Good luck on your own server where dsoma is more balanced than world of warcraft. Oh wait.

You're obviously butthurt about our server because you never have anything positive to say. Ever. It's why we've stopped trying with you.

Kekket has forwarded some great feedback and has approached it very well. We're more than happy to listen to him and any other person posting decently.

Let me translate that for you:

"you never have anything positive to say. Ever."
=
"you never agree with our game breaking ideas".

Goes to show what attention you pay to the ideas and suggestions thread to even make such a claim.

But hey, even Dan said you were the one responsible for Dsoma's balance... You've got cred!

Plus, Kekket is posting EXACTLY what I said before test server went up.

S0rc, it's probably for the best that you move on now. I for one, appreciate the passion you bring and ideas but the way you conduct yourself, with the sarcastic little comments and constant negativity on the forum isn't helping anybody. All the best in your future endeavors.

As for others, please keep this thread going in regards to balance - we've had some interesting discussions between the three of us on skype namely in response to kekkets suggestions.

We're also thinking of rewarding a prize or two to those who contribute to the test server progression.
