Probably because esoma wasn't like a giant nursery, community input can be both good and equally bad.

Take the anvil for an example the anvil has been the same across every server for what 15 years? But on here as soon as someone fails 3 or 4 weps there's a thread claiming it needs to be looked at lol.

Same reason there's a gvw % system that's pretty much redundant.

Also yes that’s the toxic part of the game both sides often vying to get each other banned or was at one point.


I think some Pkers were tougher on some people than others, but harassment? Nope this is a PvP based game, if getting Pk'd in a PvP based game is enough to upset you/make you not want to play maybe you picked the wrong game.

That's the way I see it

You knew how brutal Somas PK system could be when you joined this server, soma has had no limitations on PK for 15 years

Over all the Pservers since Esoma Rip, PK has always been this way, why could we accept it as kids (level up get stronger / better geared and get revenge /defend yourself) yet now we're all 30 something we feel the need to cry to Gms and want it removed



You are like a broken record, things have changed in those 15 years, and we all keep repeating them and you ignore it.

What if a carebear is a top tier league of legends player, or COD.... are they still a carebear? I've seen you use that word about 20 times in as many posts now, get a bit more creative.

I like some of these suggested ideas, a dedicated PK map where it has all mobs required to level on but with much better drop files is another solution.

I think it's also that this 'pserver' has been around a long while now and rates are much higher than the original...people were more focused on leveling/crafting back on esoma and as it took years and you would slowly fall behind at gvw, wotw or even just the armor you could wear in the early days.

The focus has shifted to things like lvl 110s running round all day pking anything they can unless they bow down and kiss the ring, just to get their rocks off. Or with the crafting thing people all focusing on getting that +8 wep on hsoma +5 dsoma...but I don't see many moaning on forums about breaking items it's fair across the board.

adding new map and populating spawns etc is alot more work than adding in this system, since drop rate / exp can be changed with a multiplier and variables like CTF/WOTW wins. adding in a few new variables and using the existing system should be much quicker and would stop pretty much every thread that goes pk related.

The original idea posted in the thread works, and let's just leave it at that to be honest.

You can't just expect to hunt in complete bliss can you? If the "average joe" wants to sacrifice an essential part of the game, PK, to secure their safety then they should be treated in the same carebear manner and be given a SLIGHT (10-20%) debuff in XP or drops.

Again, I don't intend to come off as ignorant but I think we're overlooking such simple fixes and simple issues.

PK has always been a big part of the game for many players, why should people who play for the PK have a big part of the game taken away from them the way is was originally designed.
(imo alot more enjoy it and play with it than those who don't want any involvement in it)

Not to mention less being killed and less PKing is going to mean many more mobs killed over the same time period so there must be some real reductions to non pk maps/pk immunity mode

5%-10% less with PK immunity would end up being FASTER than non pk immunity and that just isn't right


lets flip that why do I have to give up on my pve time for you to play the way you want.

see I can do that too tbh this is what will put new ppl off get to lvl 90 and then be unable to play there way.

going back to the first page, that sounds like an interesting option though i would have to agree with sam0 re the rates

i can honestly say i dont notice a difference between owning conti/winning ctf and not, i doubt anybody could honestly tell you whether they owned conti or not just by the rates without knowing the result of the war (unless youre super duper specific and physically timing it) so -10% or whatever just isnt enough for me

Because the players that want to be able to pk at will are the ones playing the game the way it was designed. We are not the ones trying to destroy main parts of this game for many players

I also can't really tell the difference between owning conti or not, and as they will be unable to be PK targets, spoiling others enjoyment while free to farm all day with no Pks to slow down farm the reduction would have to be atleast 30% xp/drops

reductions to % for PK immunity etc could all be put down to a vote

more players may play if ppl like you would not hunt them 24/7 but yea keep driving ppl away.

Personally I think that if your idea of fun is constantly killing someone 20 levels below you knowing they are unable to do any damage to the point that they are unable to have an enjoyable gaming experience or harass someone to not being able to hunt or level there character you are playing the wrong game.

We are a small community of people who love this old game and just want a little escape from the grind of life. PK is a part of the game, for some people more than others. You have T6 Raids, SS, GVW, CTF, Wotw, Duels, guild wars (if you organise one...) and the arena to get your killing fix. On top of that you can kill anyone you fancy 2x if they don't attack every 30 minutes... If they play soma like you then they will attack back and you can keep fighting for infinity. . Duels, RVR and open world kills will all massage your ego with a post on the website.

If you actually think that there is a lack of any sort of PK content in this game you're probably just chasing a k/d number that no one cares about except you.

I like the flag system idea and agree that exp% should max be -/+5% and max -/+10% drops. If it was to be implemented I still think that the 2 kill system should stay in place to keep the gms free to focus on content not reading pms about harassment.

This game has never been about making other players not want or be unable to play the game. I can't see how any mentally stable person gets kicks out of ruining someone's gaming experience. As it is right now the PK'rs can PK as much as they want and the casual/solo players get 30 minutes immunity from the ego warriors.

Seems to me when you lay it all out plain and simple the Gms have done a fantastic job adding a range of pvp content.
