Change the way to kill bosses

Might aswell remove all gear in game and we all use cheap clothes and t weps that's the easy fix.

Not really imo. (The hateful bashing back and forth i agree but not the suggestion.)

A few of our players in my guild don't have all the time in the world due to other commitments, (As many other players who play soma) Yes to be the best you have to put the time in I completely agree- But the game has not changed in respect to the "gubbings" the game as it stands still caters more towards those with a vast amount of time on their hand yet the UC is lower than the game was designed for.

Countless times i have heard and spoken to people (not just guildies) who say that they are frustrated and annoyed that they cannot compete and feel like quitting but love soma and that is the only reason they still play however it is becoming more apparent that i think a change is needed to make sure the UC doesn't drop further.

I myself have had thoughts of what is the point, Have turned up to blitzen around 15 times not once had the kill and I've got half decent gear these other players that don't really don't have much chance at all.

I like the idea that if you contribute towards the damage of a boss you receive a token, and certain amount of tokens can be exchanged for an item that the boss drops. I imagine this would increase the market of weps so perhaps make it a high requirement. (At least if you know you attend you will grab a token or so, so it's worth your time.)

(Or no matter who gets last hit the items are on the ground and those with fastest fingers gets an item)

I think it would work but also suggests to me that bosses should have 1 dex also, but whatever would be done, would need to balance out the damage output from mages and melee a like. (Mage has a defined 20/40 damage per 1 seconds versus melee that could make an output of maybe 5 damage per 0.35 second).

On top of the idea though.

The overall mechanic of bosses was always flawed in Soma, and I think it was likened to the idea of survival, get the drop or don't. Just like we use to say, it was - get in the ring of 8 or no dice.


Maybe another nice simple option would be...

When very specific bosses die, their corpse becomes clickable. Especially Negamare and for 30 seconds people may claim their "Piece of Unfathomable darkness". When combined x10. can be traded for a "boss roll / chest" for that specific boss - could be empty, could be barr, could be an actual item from the boss.. Much like in WoW I suppose but the spawn timer a lot shorter.

Would help gee things up. Must admit 99% of the time I just didn't bother.

Also, today, you and I were at x2 Negamares ..... China got the kill both times.

He has better gear. We will get there. I've killed nega 3 times I think now. Each time China was there. I've also been there when China has killed it and I was first one in and nicked his drop. Just gotta be in it to win it. Mages tho I agree are a diff story. Maybe the top bosses just need there md lowering? I'm not sure

Without a shadow of a doubt almost every boss needs its MD reducing, obviously the 100% hit rate of magic would have to be accounted for but currently they all have way too much MD for mages to stand a real chance.

What MickeyC said...

Every 1% of damage to boss health makes him drop a fragment maximum of 6 fragments. Different types of fragments for different bosses. (the boss also drops his normal drop). Trade the different fragments for the different gears at vendor's. Like negamare fragments trade for the stuff negamare drops at vendor... 1 fragment for white gear, 2 for sm rubys/dia ect, 3 for hardened, 7 for rare, 18 for epic, 50 for intense.

Right now the game just favours the rich geared people and gives near 0 chance for new players. This way everyone is happy and everyone wins... The elite can still get their drops but the others get fragments for participating.

The fragments don't even need to drop just works like POS and just goes in your character making programming this easy. Without the technicalities of hundreds of fragments dropping on the floor and wondering which one is assigned to you.

Just because you can’t compete doesn’t mean things need to be changed.

China set his char up for bosses. High str high dex.... what’s the actual issue here?

You went high dex with less str so ofc your going to hurt the boss less and have less chance of a kill?

Maybe the next cap raise do some str and use some of your countless rubies to Male attack gear and you’ll soon be competitive. I can’t actually believe you’ll moan about a player getting boss kills when you sit on a WH FULL of rubies and won’t use them to aid you at bosses.
