Level Cap Raise

Possible the wrong thread but as the conversation has got onto it I'd say make it add +2 if it fails, some people may see this as a ruined item so the gamble is still there.

@slayer... I think u miss understood me. “Seems to be the best way NOT to crash the market”

Some of the other ideas being knocked about would crash the market after a few months (my original suggestion included)

Tho I don’t like the fake+ idea it is the best way going forward

All good ideas but I was trying to offer a quick solution which didnt require much effort from the GM's due to personal issues.

If were going down the upgrade route then yes +1 with no fail gets my vote

and

new mob on castle map only so only if you win WOW can you train this new mob which drops nega weps and if you don't win WOW then your back to farming for drops

I think one way to get max user count every day would be to implement a daily quest that gives an untradable Tablet of choice, for say 500 Trolls / Wasps etc, so people can log on each day and guarantee a Tablet, but cannot trade it at all.

This would get people levelling as a result and farming by proxy.

It would then allow people to make their own gear at a reliable rate, and get people logging in daily to hoarde large sums of Tabs to splurge at the anvil in the hope of beating RNG.

This would lessen the effect of the failure rate and make breaking an item less of an issue.

It would also give a constant feeling of progression beyond stats, as you know you will get 1x DT / ToW etc. after your hard grind each day, in the hopes of making your character better.

Also, I realise that once added to gear, it could then be traded, but it would still take a minimum of 5 days and no fails to make a +5 item, high level characters can get 5 Tablets in less than 5 days easily at the moment via farming or trading, so it really isn't an issue.

+1 Chojine, even if people do just smash out gear to trade it’ll help get the trade market flowing better and people who hunt mage mobs after NM would get some stuff to trade most importantly (currently you have next to no hope)

I had an idea bout this earlier.
similar to chojine's idea, but make an abyss style map that's a branch of conti….

in said map they drop items, and you can trade a set number of these items for a upgrade of your choice.

however in this map only these items that can be traded are dropped (so no corpse etc etc)
But these mobs give no %

kinda write a bit of back story how magma beasts escaped this map as they were being bullied by the other mobs bla bla bla

then you can say you require
30 bits (x) to trade for a DT
15 bits (y) to trade for a POD
10 bits (z) to trade for a RDT

so dependant on how useful the upgrade you want is you have to farm a specific mob in this conti 2 map to obtain, also make it so its capped players only (help to retain capped players) & if its "conti 2" will help with even more people attending WOTW.

not sure how easy this would be to implement though I guess similar to the daily quests?

Ppl takin smack about grinding for little reward lol dont make me laugh iv literally spent months grinding raids in wow for 1 peice of gear n iv spent years grinding a certain mount n still havent gotten it. Soma is soma u either love it or hate it. Play or dont play pk or dont pk craft or dont crat lol stand in town talk shit or dont. I personally think a lvl increase once a year or once every 18 months is a good idea tho doesnt have to be an expansion just 5 lvls or something and a new mob with maybe slight drop increase as a reward for getting to thm n keep ppl happy lol

Only issue I can pick with that Qxjiang, is that WoW doesn’t have a dwindling UC of about 50.

Knowing when patches are coming would be helpful though I’m sure.

The sad truth is the majority have left soma and will likely not return unless there is something interesting to do that was not present before they left. Not a popular view, but it’s reality.

i liked the dimental quest at lvl 100 on esoma
wasnt it 3000 dimentals to gain 1 str and 3 hp iirc? could add the quest to mags so your farming your way to an extra 1str and 3hp or could add 1int and 3hp/mp?

thoughts xD

I think the game is too hard, too much effort, your not rewarded for your time in the game.

I know people won't like that, but if the game was fun, people wouldn't be quitting.

I stayed as long as I did because I wanted to achieve on this server all the things I didn't on eSoma. I got to 100, special repairs, nice upgrade skill... average gear but by far the best I've ever made.

With so little endgame, barely any pvp or rvr outside of set events, difficult farming and upgrading conditions, such slow and repetitive leveling... it's no wonder only the hardcore are left.

If cap is going to be raised, this game needs massive change.

Humans need to be able to kill Devils 1 v 1 with Melle, our weapons and armour needs to be the same attack and defense, and Devils need a much better upgrade system.

Leveling and Crafting need massive boosts. Want all those old players back, right? Well by the way they are 20-30+ levels behind. I wouldn't bother coming back knowing I'd have a mountain to climb, and we all know Soma makes a big mountain!!

Drop rates, Anvil success have to go up, up, up. What's the harm in it anyway. I'm so far behind on gear it would take me a year to catch up. No. Way.

The concept of this game is great. The execution isn't. This server is a victim of its own success. Soma has always had massive problems. Its been 6 years and it's still riddled.

I know, I'm being an ass - iSylver and Finito run this for free in their own time and it must be hassle beyond hassle. I just want to see the game thrive. It isn't. If you think it is your deluded.

I just have so much shit I can do for fun. Leveling for hours, it feels like I'm doing it for the sake of it, because I've already put so much time in. Its 2019, Soma is nearly 20 years old now.

The game just cannot take thousands of hours to get good.

Couldn't have said it better. Just make it more fun for casuals and there might be 200 people online every weekend.

think the problem for low levels is every event/boss is open to every level and they can't compete without spending 1000 of hours where they can't compete (as mentioned already)

I'd like to see a event added weekly where it spawns a wave of mobs , pertentialy make it on a new small map and restrict what levels can enter

if you had 2+ of these new maps and make it so say a set level range could enter and put both events on at the same time and both droped stuff relevant for there level range, then it should keep ppl from loging lower level chars ect

This way the drops for low levels could be increased to help lower levels catch up and become competitive as well as not having to compete with caped chars

(the drops dont need to be stupidly high, just not having to compete with caped players should help them get a few more drops than current)

That would be good Mazoku and make the drops untradable or 'account bound' so there isn't a easy to abuse such zones.
