"RAZOR"The rates were great I managed to make excuses and get on when I thought I couldn't and get some good work in, but its a double edged sword. I don't feel like grinding so hard now, would rather wait until the next double exp event. The 140 slow was a killer, started at 132 weap skill and thought I would easily hit 150 with the mats and time I had. Wasn't expecting such a slow literally seemed to double my mat use, used all ym mats and ran out of time dead on midnight, 146.2 skill. So that's about 61k copper 20k leather I need just to get to 150 -.-

At the same time if rates are upped and everyone hits cap, those who enjoy the levelling experience of soma will disappear. Its a bit of a dilemma.
Edit: I just want to add that the crafting rates boost were amazing, At that rate it is still a challenge to get to 150 skill, I made it to 125 from 104 with 30000 attempts and theres still another slow at 140.[/quote]

Rates seem perfect as they were this weekend. As brain said not to fast not to slow. As it stands on normal rates it takes a casual player anything between 6 months to a couple of years to cap depending on how casual and if your healing ect. A year to cap a char to be on a even playing field with capped chars stat wise is silly imo because once you've done that then you've got to spend the next x amount of months / years gearing up and there is cap raises so pushes new players even further back. For the server to actually gain momentum again we need perminantly faster rates untill the cap raise. I'm sure most capped players are working on a alt so its handy for everyone who wants to do a new build. Fact is as it stands you could be talking a couple of years to cap n farm a bit of gear if your a solo player. It's alright saying it's to fast but you guys have good gear. Think of the solo players who arent even in a big guild to get the help. No one has years to put in to a char apart from the select few remaining players. Faster rates = more players.. fact. I've seen names this weekend I've never even seen before back on the server levelling. Was really refreshing!

I wasnt talking about me. Unlike you lot I consider other players. Do you know how many people I see hunting in basic gear with D speed bows. Makes me cry. And why not? What difference does it matter if people cap quicker? Theyve still got to farm gear after. Not like with 3x rates people are gonna cap in a week will still take months. But months is better than years.. Like I say only a bunch of players can commit to the rates and the dedication it takes to capping a char and farming gear as the basic rates stand.

I do like the idea of say after a certain time frame of a new level cap increase after x months the rates are increased so those who don't have much time are able to try and keep up.

The rates where very refreshing i only got to lvl for a hour or so but the rates kept me interested for the full 100% rested i had... I think if maybe Increasing the rates to how they was over the weekend permanent will give players the ability to create Several different builds and capping casually in a decent time allowing casuals who have families etc or those that work alot to catch up with base builds (chars without gear) we all know a character is made by the items they have that play to that builds advantages
It was nice to see the stats pop up regularly it felt more rewarding for what we do.. point and click x repeat for hours on end.. it took away that grind feel and in doing so the experience was more enjoyable and a bonus gettin a few drops added to the feel good feeling soma once gave me 10 years ago.... more of this and im sure people would come back and there wouldn't be a problem with multis and not knowing whose on what char etc. It made me want to come back.but because of my lifestyle and being a dad i dont have time to play 4-5 hours a day but with the increased rates in rested i got a whole level done in 50 mins at 80+ and that was with a slow apus. at the current rates it would have taken about 4 hours.. time i cant spend on soma anymore... Hope people try to see the positives in a rates increase for casuals.. it doesnt effect endgame just gives busy players who wish they could play more. a more enjoyable grind to the cap when they do get 5mins of peace.

Could have double rates for the rest of the 6 year anniversary month (August) or have it every fri-mon night until September.
Doubt I'll lvl much but it'll help most casuals get nearer to cap. |
