If you do 4 hours work a week.. you don't expect too many £'s in ur paypacket.
Nothing different playing a game. Any game.
Gm's have speeded things up gradually over the years.

Ye..up to lev 100 could possibly do with a little speed up, allowing for some catch up. That's proly what the x2 and 3 xp events are for.
There's tons of capped ppl, and ppl rapidly approaching. When people cap, they get bored.. so pointless every1 capping in 4 weeks. The gm,s can't keep up with updates if things are too fast.
If ppl put the hours in.. just like some guy at work doin 72 hours a week gets more £'s in his paypacket, then they gain more levels and drops ingame.

Might be an idea to always make the last 10 levels super slow.. keeping the hardcore, unemployed and unwashed, busy for a while.. and then by the time the slowcoaches catch up..theres another new 10 levels for the unemployed/ jobless to do.... and the previous 10 levs can be speeded up for the slowcoach/ working ppl ? :P

I know diff ppl have different committments and time available...bur seriously.... you can't come on the forum and say u play 4 hours a week and complain that things aren't fair.. seriously

"RAVENSOUL"I blame the level rises for the gradual decline in the UC and that's not a blame on the GM's because the community were the ones asking for these rises.

The higher the level gets, the longer it takes for your average casual player of 1-2 hours a day or a few days a week to achieve, which these players start to think there reward isn't worth there time.

The experience all mobs give needs tweaking again to allow your casual players to feel there time is being rewarded and allow them to catch up. No more cap rises for a year or 2 and focus on end game context. Revamp drop files so the mobs your levelling on drop things you need at that time and not what you needed 10+ levels ago. Focus on events, competitions to give players that fun factor back.

Soma is and always has been the journey you have from level 1, so bring the fun back into Soma to replace the grind that it seems to have turned into.

Hit the nail on the head, People constantly want level cap increases because they're too bored and nothing to do, The answer isn't to just give us another 10 levels!

The answer is to introduce a better end game! There are so many good ideas floating about on the ideas and suggestion thread.

I'm afraid Lupi you are the one that is wrong, in my eyes anyway.

What do you achieve, By getting another 10 levels? You spend more time ingame capping that character hell maybe even 2,3 more what then? Another level cap raise? For what, because you enjoy leveling? (Not that there is anything wrong with that and if that's what you like about the game you do that if your happy, but most people aren't like that. There needs to be something better that we are all working towards things along the lines of

Things like Mass RVR battles, PVP battles such as PK wars all tied in with loot as "rewards" etc etc

Lets be honest the UC in soma is what around 200 at best? How many of those 200 players will come on cap and stay playing, or do you think they would say ok i'm capped i got my gear or i'm not prepared to put X amount of hours in to get that gear i'm satisfied with what i've got i'll just go play something else.

Take the above as a pinch of salt, Everyone is entitled their opinion and everyone plays the game differently.

I'd like to see devils and humans have a map they can both hunt on without killing each other, opening the community up more by actually being able to talk to a devil without seeing **** lol

I understand where your coming from Lupi, If you want to be able to compete in this game just like any other game you have to put in the hours, But the difference between this and other games is the usercount/ small community.

You just can't compare it easily to other games because of this, But if you try and compare it you will find that:

No other game requires you to make a character, cap it then use it as a tank to do this stupid +50 bonus route.
Other mmorpgs you can just start your character start hunting mobs and as you get stronger kill bosses and get loot, On soma the only time you have decent items is over level 100....

There needs to be a better system in place to help newer players, Things like Level 50 be given an untradeable A+ bow, Quests to obtain special repair tokens, Like lyricist said i myself see players hunting with speed D bows and we wonder why they stop playing?

Add Auction house
Add more RVR events
Add more PVP events
Add a prestige level, so you can carry on leveling after 120 for smaller rewards i.e more bag weight/warehouse space/cosmetics/

Let people want to hunt and gain % but not for stats for something else

There are so many endless possibilities, Like you say cosmetics such as wings and stuff

I would like to see new aura's and a new map with new farmable mobs, Aura's that make you temporarily run faster etc

I best stop posting because kinda gone off topic lol

rvr as mentioned....
well..apart from the occasional brave or adventurous mage.. how many mele guys ( the majority of hsoma ) do you see going to slay some devils?
More levels.. more stats .. more items... and rvr might come to life.
More levels = capped players having things to do instead of pking players 20 levs lower than them and being a nuisance.
A few competiions..even the 1s i think up ( raven) isn't enough to keep capped ppl interested. They are just a distraction for an hour or 2.
Any mmorpg is about levels/stats and gear.
More ideas and differing ways of implementing pvp/ rvr is good. But the core idea of this game is advancement.
And that means levels+
imo ofc.

Over and out.

The life of a soma player......

Create character
Do con on bugs till 30 con
Heal till 100 int
Acquire a vod tp
Cliff cyclone shanis till x stat
Move to hoarde shanis till x stat
Move to blg till x stat
Move to boars till x stat
Move to trolls till capped
The end

There is more to Soma than that list, it's a shame too many actually miss out on the real Soma and it's amazing journey just waiting to be taken :(

indeed, and this is why I belive that the stat bonus hunting mobs with 50+ str should be lowered down, possibly to 20+ str or even lower, this would then make use of TYT/MERC and ABIAS (wouldn't effect dsoma anymore due to dsoma stat system)

this wouldn't affect pre made chars, but would help all new players, as they wouldn't need to have a tank (spair char) or the need to multi screen

plus would speed up levelling of the new chars as they would actuly dmg the mobs they hunt for the bonus

ive thought about a Diablo style leveling at 120 as well, add unlimited levels at 120, when you hit 120 +1 or what ever, you go to the king, he gives you a chest and you pick a reward, the reward is based on your prestige level and can be anything rom the database.. (upgrades, basic armour) the higher the prestige level the better, that way it gives capped players something to do and guarantees rewards, without them getting massive stats

"DOUAVACADO"
"RAZOR"
"DOUAVACADO"There is always the option of rested pots, you can find them in the store

I am a filthy casual, level 94 and have never used my rested up since I was about level 80, unless its a double weekend of course. It takes me 12 hours to use my rested currently and I play for ~12 hours a week.

12 hours a week is potentially 72% a week after lvl 100, what are you doing during your time online? Below level 100, you should easily have a level complete with 12hrs in the week especially with rested to assist

I've capped 2 devs in less than 1000hrs and I've nearly capped a human in less than 1500 lol (the devs had slower % than current server rates but the human is on the most recent rates)

1500hrs is 17.12% of the total year (365 days is 8760hrs)
Some of the chars in this post have been around for longer than a year?

And loads of other people have capped with full time jobs and kids, I think half of the problem is the fact that the people in this thread just can't be arsed lol or when they are online they don't have a game plan/use time efficiently

Makes sense, I've only been doing 12 hours a week the last few weeks, but assume you're talking about someone with decent gear. I do have a +5 stinger now which helps. I have 1300 hours on this character and have been collecting mats and crafting on this char. I also have a lvl 76 devil with 115 hours on him.

I started this character on the day the server started but took a 2 year gap in 2015. Currently spending my time crafting to get enough skill to make Toes/DPs so I can upgrade my gear.
