Unfortunately it’s not even just time. We are all unfortunate enough to still enjoy playing a dated, 20% completed & pointless game.

The mechanics of soma just don’t make end game content an easy addition, the way the system works, ie grinding for stats is again outdated.

It’s the harsh reality that Soma won’t be anything more than it already is a grind fest with the only end game content that can be added are items, a level cap or a new boss.

The over exaggerated weapon speed breaks the game, speed was meant to be knuckles advantage.
Dex breaks the game.
Evasion and accuracy breaks the game.
The ridiculously brutal upgrade system breaks the soul of every human being.
The 2 years+ to cap for anyone less than a 12 hours a day player, to be able to anything fun that’s been added to this amazing server, is stupid.

I love this game, I love everything Dan, Finto anyone that’s had input development wise, I love every player that logs on to support the game but things need to change. We need to break the mould that this game fits in to we need to as a community come up with ideas and to either be told ‘that won’t work’ or ‘that would work!’

Take those ideas no matter how stupid the GMs think they might be and add them into a poll, if it’s doable let the players decide.

Heck stick a poll on Facebook, ‘who wants perm x3 rates, would you return to the land of soma?’ Let the usercount that is here and the one that’s lurking around for events/a change decide.

It’s the only way it will improve.

Completely disagree with your tone and also the over simplified solutions.

We listen to the community but only when we see it right as an option for progression for the right thing to do for the game. As I said we will give a 25% boost across the board when I’m back and this will be the 5th time our rates have changed (things were a tonne slower at the beginning).

Comments about the game “being dead” aren’t helpful. We’ve proven this over the last 6 years with what we’ve added.

I struggle to see many mmorpgs get the same amount of updates as our free to play 2 man volunteered game. Rested, tag system, the boss ai, dueling, quest systems, con when you like and so much more have been fundamental to making this game succeed above and beyond Esomas ability.

I think rates are ok, especially if it gets increased by another 25%... yes it takes a while to cap but the journey is also important, especailly for hsoma where mobs like blg drop amazing med ruby rates.

The only thing I would like to see as an added feature is once a week or every 6days, exp rates become x2 for that day.. it would make that particular day of the week the busiest day, and it should have a knock-on effect for the community to get bigger and less people feeling game is dead because of the hours they log there is no one on.

Regardless, this x3 exp was amazing.. managed to get some nice cooking skill ++ xD

imo most rates are fine

I have capped/helped capped about 6/7 chars now mage and melee. i think mages at lower level have it hardest vs melle, If anything increase Nightmare EXP 25% and av not done valks since rocky/cupid but i remember them being quite slow vs when i did boar on spider/sub.

I think for melle once you hit horde and blg its plain sailing its really easy to level melle especially with 99% evasion.

I think wasps are fine as you can group them up into 3 quite easy and aoe, you cant do this with NMs or valks. So i found wasps to be great to level on. Same with trolls they great spawns.

Also mage lvling vs melle lvling needs more balance. Melle most people now including myself can wear full eva dex and use a fast bow/axe etc. So you can lvl reallllly fast with this gear. Mages still cast same speed and proc does not count towards lvling so its much slower. If proc counted then this would really speed it up as if you say have 50% proc on that means in theroy you will lvl 50% quicker. Same asa bow being 500 recoil i guess.

If you make it to fast people will just cap and get bored, I much prefer lvling than grinding mags. Hence why we always make new chars. And Tbh when you hit blg the loot is great.

And before anyone says i only say things to give "myself" an advantage i have capeed 3 mages and 4 melee, my current project is mage but next is melle. And this is my opinion on the matter.

However you have NOT capped all these chars on your own you have always had assistance so how can you comment? If you had done a char from level 1 to level 120 then fair enough.

Mage levelling is no harder than melee, in fact I'd say its easier. A large proportion of mage levelling is done naked without the requirement of pots and 4th level magic has been made easier to obtain with nightmare now dropping diamonds. The rate pf mage levelling can also be increased with the use of MA upgrades, the same way melee levelling is increased with a faster weapon and attack gear.

Look at it from a completely new players point of view, someone who has no assistance obtaining top end gear to level with and no one to tank for them. Being put in their shoes I'd chose the mage route hands down.

I welcome and appreciate the 25% boost, helps myself and others get to a stage where they can actually compete.

Linny genuinely has a point though, these rates are fine if you have 4 people levelling one character or access to eva and upped bows.

you aint even leveled your own char lol you always have 2/3 people leveling it with lol come back to us when you level your own char from 1-120 with no help :)

It will do I think as it's put on the same as a x 2/3 weekend. Isylver/Finito need to confirm just guessing.


x 2 drops forever too needed 'cos killed hundreds of Boars got like 1 blue pod hard gore dreadful drops and no bows/staffs.
x 2 drops forever also will make many more play I think.
Def 2 low atm no wonder people play other games. Will also help the economy bigtime and help people catch up.

x2 drops forever and get this economy booming.
