Don't think p2p is the way farward, yes I'd be willing to pay but as sorc already stated, what about 2nd and 3rd accouts

But with how soma is I can't stand the grind with no items and drops, it's become boaring, rested only benifits the free lvls or high lvls that can't get rid

What do you mean no items or drops?

On a side note, is a 'Twitter shout scroll' in the donation store, just a shout scroll the colour of Twitter?

"SATAN2"I agree there are more things to consider than simply adding a 'subscribe' button to the website, but the tax implications aren't onerous. Wouldn't need to be VAT registered as I doubt the income would come to anywhere near the threshold, everything else, keeping a record of all incomings and outgoings wouldn't be difficult. I'd be happy to help for free (I'm an accountant).

Isnt VAT registered so you can claim your tax back? which takes like forever with them and wouldnt they have to play like 3 or 4 different tax's

I didn't want this thread to turn into a technicality, just to see the opinions of fellow players, I'm personally for rewarding the gm's with monthly donations - instead of turning it into a p2p after reading everyone's comments, then everyone is doing their bit to say thank you for the hours grafting these guys do atm xxxx

No, just income tax (assuming they're all from the UK). Being VAT registered would allow them to reclaim any VAT on purchases (I.e server costs) but would have to charge VAT on the subscription fee, increasing the cost for us by 20%, and that money would then go to HMRC rather than to iSylver/Finito.

Anyone want any tax advice pm me in game, I charge 1 small diamond per question.

What we could do is allow you guys to donate for completely bespoke coloured shout scrolls named after yourselves (you give us the RGB) for £30 or so.

It'd be a way to have a completely unique item yet not breaking the game via Pay to Play or Pay to Win.

Made a post about this yesterday but that big mess of a thread got deleted.

Basically you could have a community donation "goal" every month on the front page of the site which could pay for more development/increasing Finito's "wage" so he has more incentive to develop.(if he has the free time, I don't know)

Also there could be a set day every 2 weeks? where we can share our idea's about balance/future patches to ISylver/Finito and discuss the idea's as a community which would improve the server as a whole, more interaction with Finito would be great, knowing what development limits there is and what can be done with the emulator.

Which could be done at either http://myth-of-soma.com/Armory/Chat.asp or http://somadev.com/chat.php

I like hoho's suggestion in that it's something I mentioned previously. The ability to have some sort of a "forum" with the gms to allow discussion would be nice.
That "oh dear that cunt's a cheat" thread had a couple of worthwhile discussions within. Ie donations and the raiding.

I don't know anything about computers and DBs etc but surely this stuff could be outsourced on odesk or something? Or is soma's requirements quite specific?
The whole new range of bosses are probably the best thing iv seen in soma ever. Although I have no idea whatsoever what was involved in getting them working ingame or indeed where the animations came from.

It could be outsourced, they'd just have to learn the ins and outs of the game first. But they'll probably do that for a minimal price anyways. There's a lot of stuff that people have done that could be implemented for spells, auras, maps etc. I do like petes idea though (;*) it'd be a good way to see what can be done and the overheads behind it, time/£££ in comparison to other things. Say a new map and monsters is 1 month/£100 and updated boss files, revised mob locations and updates to the existing maps we have to make the most of them is 2 weeks/£50 then people could judge accordingly and/or vote for what they want the most

May be a good idea to all think if non p2w ideas that dan and finito could put in donations store.

Immediately I can think of time saving ideas like bulk moving of items via this website between guild and wh.

Obviously skill lock and reset has been mentioned before.

And lastly clues to crafting some of the new accessories.
