Kinda on the fence about this thread not because of the multies though, personally I don't like multies and I don't support them I think they should be gone. Fact is though you will come across multies in every single mmorpg you will ever play even if it's not the 24/7 character is always online type.
What I'm on the fence about are all these talks of caps on stats/hours played etc etc, I'm not down with the dictating on how long people think someone should be allowed to play for or how much stats you think someone should be allowed to gain and all that.

"As for multis it will happen and there is no efficient way to police them. For example Someone may play 20 hours on a weekend as they work all week? Why would they factor a penalty?
You could even do it on a weekly basis but then again you've got a negative psychology." I don't think you understand what a multi is in all respect. A Multi is a character whom is being used by different people in order to be able to play 24/7 and get ahead of everyone else. It doesn't have anything to do with one person playing 20 hours in a weekend. I think that this should be strictly policed as it will ruin Myth of Soma.

People talking about multis are in all mmorpg's, your forgetting this isn't a Massive orpg, we have a small base of players and if 5-10 people are massly overpowered due to multing then its quite noticeable and game effecting, we don't have different ranges of pvp zones according to your lvl to make pvp fair, everyones stuck in the same place

What I'm on the fence about are all these talks of caps on stats/hours played etc etc, I'm not down with the dictating on how long people think someone should be allowed to play for or how much stats you think someone should be allowed to gain and all that. What I'm proposing isn't about how long people think someone should be allowed.to play. It's about how long one person is actually capable of playing. No one person can put as many hours into one character as has been put on mr_perfect. It's just not possible. Sure you can get crazy and pull an all nighter, but you can't play 16+ hours a day consistently. You just can't. By placing a high weekly playtime cap, no one is trying to police how long a single person can play for - because the fact of the matter is that no single person is going to be hitting this cap. Anyone suggesting that they monitor the IPs logged into an account, this simply wouldn't work. I would bet that most of you have a dynamic IP address assigned to you by your ISP via DHCP. This and the fact that many people play from many different locations. Anyone stating that "you will find multis in every mmorpg" - Soma cannot be compared to "other mmorpgs". There are a few hundred human players and possibly a few hundred devil players. And one of the main draws of Soma is it's PVP. Having said all this, I don't necessarily believe that multis are going to completely ruin the game, but the 5-10 characters that are being played 16+ hours a day are going to have quite a discouraging effect on the main aspect of it (PVP).

I like I said I'm not against any ideas of multies being stamped out or whatever since I can't stand them myself, I mean there's no reason why anyone should be playing a character that doesn't belong to them, I just don't like restrictions on stat gains/playtime based off of a few people.

Also FYI. for people referring to IP's the character you're referring to has one singular IP on his account.

Of course I know what a "multi" is I'm stating that there is no efficient way to police them. Rested exp becomes better: A) the more you have. B) the higher level you are. And also consider that the character you're referring to also isn't the highest level in hsoma.

i think this is probably getting out of hand and maybe should be closed. the discussions been had. there is no efficient way to police multi's.
I don't even agree that they do any damage to the game at all. Rested xp had addressed any problems for the casual player imo. you just dont feel the benefit to much yet. wait till your lvl 60+

Multi's annoy the hell out of me also, but they have been around since esoma and have always been the strongest. However, esoma had caps. It may not have had caps in ways of levels, but items and spells were introduced over time to avoid characters being too OP.
On this server we have no such caps. Which will mean pvp will get out of hand really badly and really fast. We need to come up with a solution otherwise we are delaying the inevitable. What this server does have in its favour is rested xp. However, this is by no way enough at lower and mid levels. I keep hearing it will impact more at higher levels, but it will be too late. ISylver, I don't suggest anything to penalise multis. I think that's a dangerous route on how to police it. But something needs to be done for the more casuals. I would suggest trying to tweak rested xp somehow. Rested xp has been pointless to me all the way to level 30, so I can't comment up to lvl 40. However, can we have some form of 'regions' of rested xp. Ie up to level 30 let's double the speed rested xp is calculated. Up to level 49 maybe x1.5 etc. I honestly think rested xp should be a dynamic adjustment to the game, which will need to be constantly tweaked to avoid this 'gap' bridging too far.

Thread was Made for pure psychologically motivated purposes.
A certain guild is not happy with another certain guild and want a united alliance with the rest of the Hsoma community against this guild. Let me remind you, the first week of the server is always the most important for any server. Your guild leader plum, I believe blinded+weakened at gazers many a Noob's due to previous hate on the test server. I do believe he also pk'd Other people too, the very people who he now seeks from redemption. This just motivates and encourages others to (if possible) never log off and get that tasty revenge. Multis exist and will exist for the near future. Just means they have a life outside the game and can not sit there for 20 hours a day plum like you (i feel for the 4 hour [extra input] lost). Fuel the fire. Kick off a shit storm, then Fear the very characters you harassed might end up stronger then you once anticipated? Live with it and go cry more. Have a nice day :)

"ISYLVER" For being offline 12 hours, i gain 2% rested bonus, (at level 40+) which lasts 10 minutes max) Its a step in the right direction, but it could maybe use some increasing

For example 5% rested at level 10 is very different to 5% at level 50.
