For those that aren't aware.. and done the slog from 0-150 skill..........
to get from 150-200 takes approx 15x longer .. so ye... some perks for the 200 skill would be nice
However.. not gona benefit all the players if only a handful of players have massive increases in success rates.. only those with access to a 200 crafter.
I think improvements to help every1 are what's being tested.. maybe more attack/def can be added to crafted weps/arms depending on skills, and the chance to craft tags be increased like it was approx 18 months ago...( then it was removed ;p )
Also adding shak tier weps for crafting would be something to consider.. mayb

"TEMEROSO"Raven you know the anvil is being looked into, I’m really unsure what you’re trying to do here... this information has been posted 3 times now...

Would have thought it was obvious, I’m highlighting the lack of reward for a 200 skill crafter gets over a 150 skill crafter.

This is the discussion hall for players to discuss Soma, so again I’ll once again repeat I’m highlighting the lack of reward a 200 skill crafter gets gaining 50 skill more than a 150 skill crafter.

Maybe other rewards could be revisited for 200 skill crafters? The current robe isnt great for 200 skill.

I did the math if you increased it by 10% and it was quite interesting

150 skill with 10% increase on each upgrade chance
+1 80%
+2 61.60%
+3 45.50%
+4 32.30%
+5 22%
+6 14.30%
+7 8.80%
+8 5.20%

so +5 goes from 10% chance to 22% chance

and making a +8 goes from 1.4% chance to 5.2% chance

As for 200 skill

200.00 skill with 10% increase per upgrade
+1 80%
+2 62.40%
+3 47.40%
+4 35%
+5 25.20%
+6 17.60%
+7 12%
+8 7.90%

So +5 goes from 12.4% to 25.2% and +8 goes from 2.4% to 7.9%

So 200 is more worth it at these stats.

I really think for anvil there are 3 options that all should be tested on a open server that everyone can try then vote

1: Ghost upgrade as fin suggested so it item fails it still goes + but nothing added

Pro's - nothing breaks, and its still just as hard to make a good +8

cons - there will be a LOT of junk so i think the Auction house cominded with this would be great then lower lvls can buy the "ghost" items if people want to sell them

2: As above incrase each by 10%, i tested 12% and was a bit to much imo so 10% seemed about right

pro's much better thance to make good items

cons - things still break just not as much

3: Make items have +2/3 for "free" either just streight up no fails or can fail and item is returned as it was but lose upgrade or something like that.

But again i think all this should be tested by a lot of people.

would be intrresting to see what happpens witht eh ghost upgrade on weps i can see a lot being crap at +5 but would bring a lot of weps into game that low lvls can use or get for free.

1 or 2 i like most.

Not sure where these values have come from or what they have been based on, looks kind of like the rolling odds but still a bit different.

Here's the 'original' 150 skill values, with two forms of implementing a 10% increase (addition and multi). Only went to +5 though, phone spreadsheets are a pain in the arse.

The additive 10% would result in 114% extra +5's making it through, The multiplicative 10% would result in 61% extra.

Not intended as a knock in the slightest Sub. It just pays to be as dilligent as possible when working with numbers, its surprising how far simple mistakes can go.

was based on this being what fin told m e

150 skill
70
67
64
61
58
55
52
49
46

then i added 10 to each one off them numbers so 70% become 80% etc

You’ve got 1 too many in your list for the % at 150 skill subxero, first attempt is at 67% not 70% ;)

100 - 150 - 200
+1 66% 77% 88%.
+2 62% 74% 86%
+3 58% 71% 84%
+4 54% 68% 82%
+5 50% 65% 80%
+6 46% 62% 78%
+7 42% 59% 76%
+8 38% 56% 74%

This is how it looks from my previous post with an increase of 10% on top of each attempt.

These numbers increase the chances of a select few making +8's like yourself.

How does this benefit the server, we are meant to be looking at how to make the game more appealing to new and casual players, rather than almost forcing them to craft to 200 skill?

Surely the fact you have an increased rate regardless of how small is still enough? it's more than my 130 gives me, you also have extra SR's and a better ability to craft weapons/armour.

Simply posting the % if they were equally increased between 100-150 and 150-200 nothing more nothing less, obviously they would favour higher skilled crafters, that’s the point I’m trying to show that at present gaining that extra 50 skill from 150-200 there is very little reward with the anvil for the time and effort.

The list imho is on the high side and would cause knock on effects with the economy, this is the whole point of a discussion to show all sides of tweaking numbers what might be etc.

And it was why I was the one to say to gms to hold back on any anvil tweaks because it has to be right for everyone and for soma.

If 'ghost +1' (my preferred option) comes in we need disassemble that has a chance to return some of the crafting mats along with a chance that it simply rips the item rather than an auction house imo.

Also, I like how you're qualified as a mathematician here because you can multiply two fractions lol.
