"FOXTRCK""LIONS""FOXTRCK"It was a suggestion by me in the VT group to add damage over distance % drops, it works well as part of a set of methods to make all other melee classes viable. What u on about, why would someone waste valour on a bow which at best with the damage reduction range is no better then a nega bow and a nega bow no better then a stinger now. Mages can still weaken, proc and still do more damage even with the damage reduction. All that’s happened is 1 class has been nerfed.

I don't know if it was needed in Devil Soma though nor if the impact off it should span PvE but it definitely was needed for PvP. Well over due. Nice one.
As for the % stepping, I think its fine, it has to be harsh to make a point ^^

Probably best you stick to the new server pal and implement it there.
I know its easy to demonise something or someone you don't know or don't understand but I suggest you just ask for clarity, from iSylver, for why it was put in. Its a great change and you should all be very glad for it as a significant step towards making all other weapons useful / viable.
Maybe your real complaint is the lack of notice of it, the commitments players have already made to making good bows. Either way, the bigger picture tells you is a great move, diverse pvp = yay. ^^ Happy days.

"FOXTRCK"I think your missing the bigger picture here, a couple more changes and you'll all be much more free to use the other weapons in the game for PVP. Something you should all want. All other weps are range 1 for warriors you think a mage going to stand In front of u 😔😂, where as on the other hand mages have always attacked from range and will still do and still do more damage with weak and proc even after the damage reduction compared to a warrior at range

PS - I think you should really make the effort to understand the change before demanding it be removed. Talk to iSylver.
Tbh I request isylver to revert the changes back to what they were, even if it means mages can 1 bang warriors and warriors can cause some serious damage to mages with bow.

Plus once a warrior is stoned they can use range one if they want. Warriors needed a way to fight back against proc this was it. This brought somadev to good balance both classes could kill each other rather than proc mages and nux users getting most of the kills

Looking at the vid the dmg dosnt look to bad, end of the day any dmg delt over range 2 is dmg a spear, knuckle , sword and axe wouldn't have done
One of the bigger worrys iv seen about this change is axe para aura, making ppl come in to range 2 to do max dmg is basicly helping axe para stone death So def something to look at imo

So you go to a Audi dealership and buy a brand new R8. One day you get call from Audi saying can you bring it in there are a few software changes we need to do. After the changes you realise the horsepower has been reduced from 500 to 200.
When you complain they say sorry but it was just too powerfull and had to be reduced. So now you start to think you was better off buying a Ford Focus and paying less. This is what bow users are feeling atm.

ridiculous hahahaha. get a grip
bow damage has been increased with the new weapon to the same DPS. would you like the alternative? having bows damage reduced as base from the weapon? massive damage over range is just silly. you just mad you cant feather while attacking people?

I agree about stone being too strong for closer pvp. Should nerf duration to 2seconds max on Hsoma. Dsoma should probably be around 5 seconds because not everyone can stone.

I’d reduce stone to 3 seconds, add the same damage reduction algorithm to spells and proc, BUT make mages uninterruptible.
So mages are forced to get to range 2 also but can’t be interrupted. |

ISYLVER [Staff] |
This - we actively made the bow stronger with the caveat that this damage reduction would come in. Let’s take a look at nega bow vs nega knuckle as a base (compare Untag).
Bow: 45-61 (D 1150) = 92 DPS Knuckle: 54-66 (750) = 160 DPS This means bows for bow to be bumped to a similar damage it needed 73% boost in attack (which we did with the new tier aligning DPS). So if you want no damage reduction then we could have to reduce the bows attack by 57% which will leave you much worse off. Ultimately fox is right, this change sets us up for the right future. I’m interested to discuss how it’s calculated but ultimately the change is needed. Test it, feedback, give it time rather than instantly dismissing it because it’s clouded by self interest.

Arrows achieve velocity as the bow is drawn (energy added by the archer) then released (energy transferred from the bow limbs through the string and to the arrow.) At the instant an arrow leaves the string, there is no longer a force pushing and accelerating the arrow. Once the arrow is in flight, the only outside force acting on it that affects its speed and power is the air resistance slowing it down called the drag. The total amount of drag on an arrow is a factor of the shape of the arrow, the speed of the arrow and the density of air. Because there is no thrust or anything else to power the arrow’s flight after leaving the string, the drag alone will determine the arrow’s deceleration over the remainder of the flight.

Can't argue with this. Good to see gm's taking on new ideas and putting them into action. As always, after testing and seeing results.. everything is tweakable if necessary. Nice work x
