Was talking to the guild about bringing back old players (Around the level 50-80 mark)
Introduce a triple exp weekend every month? Every two weeks? Where anyone under level 70/80 can gain triple exp and skill (Moral remains the same). This could also work for levels 1-40 to get them upto speed even quicker Adding more armours/weapons/int robes to the craftables, by doing this it will give people an easier ride on getting items rather than having to grind for items like saw knuckles/raw swords/bof etc and sorc armour and maybe shadow armour, this could also be done for rof's with access skill. All of the above could be given 110+ skill requirement so every tom dick and harry couldn't make them. Sylver also said in game a week ago that he would be accepting donations of in game content, auras, armours, shit like that if anyone has them then post away. Is it possible to use alot of the stuff from somadev? Also having server spawned events, so isylver doesn't have to be on to spawn them, say every 2 weeks on a Saturday between 10am and 2pm there will be a set number of bosses spawned in tyt or in vod which can alternate between a rotation of bosses Also a load of quests could be written ... below is an example one for nightmares, if anyone is interested i'll go through the code with you and explain what's what but it's not hard QuestSystem:Quest{ id = 277, class = 0, level = 60, title = 'A Nightmare's nightmare', subtitle = 'Pold - Level 60', description = [[I need you to bring me 5 Large Jade's and 3 Dried Frog's. \\Reward - Vortex Earring.]], startnpc = 183, completenpc = 183, objectives = {{type = 'item', value = 314, count = 5}}, objectives = {{type = 'item', value = 1033, count = 3}}, rewards = {{type = 'item', value = 1744, count = 1}}, functions = { start = QuestSystem:QuestMessage([[I've had enough of this, Nightmare's keep killing my workers, sort it out for me.]]), incomplete = QuestSystem:QuestMessage([[You don`t have enough items. Come back when you have 3 Dried Frog's and 5 Large Jade's.]), complete = QuestSystem:QuestMessage([[Here is you're Vortex Earring.]]),

From what I read on forums/in game now seems the time to bring the old guys back...
it's almost as if soma had a dark age in which there was domination and those days are over good thread overall Yoshi. +1 |

I would honestly love some repeatable quests.
I don't like the idea of triple XP weekend. What about the players that can't play in the weekend? Rather have players get a set amount of "triple XP" that works like rested XP. |

"JARAGOONDOO"I would honestly love some repeatable quests. This would be a good alternative, could make it a week with a maximum of 200% exp

Triple xp that works like rested but at a much slower rate?
Any non-gm spawned events - can they please be in the evenings, some people work weekends too! More quests that have useful rewards, like the one yoshi said, be happy to make a few up and I'm others would do same. Make drops more varied and have mobs drop the correct items for the levels hunting them. More mini bosses or "gang leaders" would be cool. Wouldn't mind an alternative to BLG / NM, could be interesting to give LZ/DZ same stats as BLG or make conti BLG and NM give better stats than other maps ones for more incentive for conti.

If you want players who have left to come back you need to consider why they left.
“Improving” the game is something that has an infinite mindset (it’s always going to be relative to what already exists). How many people left because they got fed up ? Most ? How many of the people who were fed up were fed up with the game content ? (I suspect very few) How many people left because of “problems” with other players ? (I suspect a lot) Asking for game improvements is fine (I guess) but expecting them when we (generically) are causing player loss is a mis-priority. I know some people are capped and are becoming “bored” but the majority are not capped and have a long way to go. The AFK botting, the piloting, the playing of the “I’m superior” card and the harassment (I have no idea why Bradley-C is still around after the amount of abuse he has suffered) has (in my opinion) been a big “off put” for most of us. Clean up our own act first before asking for game improvements. 8) Jac

I'd come back and play more if it wasn't mandatory to level up with a healer.
The min dmg change has slowed down leveling so much that I can't justify the time investment. |

"JACKELPUP"If you want players who have left to come back you need to consider why they left. Check the quote. We can only "clean up" our own act so much, at the end of the day new content is what will bring old players back. You can't just send out a mass email saying "Everyones ethic in soma has changed, come back and find out", nobody would come back. If you send them an email with a huge list of content that has been added/modified, a fair few would at least log on to see what's changed ....

Why did they get fed up?
How many of the people who were fed up were fed up with the game content ? (I suspect very few)
A fair few left because there was nothing to offer beyond the level cap and didn't see the point in levelling to cap just to sit around (Which i disagree with)
How many people left because of “problems” with other players ? (I suspect a lot)
This may have been true in the past, alot of people were behind EQ so much that the whole server couldn't compete against 1 guild, which isn't the case anymore so this doesn't matter.

These things are part of every online game nowerdays, they are dealt with pretty well by Isylver if i'm honest and the BC thing, he lured mobs onto me for 30 mins+ the other day when PK was off, that's just the tip but i'll not turn this into a flame war, I want it to be constructive only.

If you sent out an email saying "People have stopped f**king it up" you would get X come back.
If you sent an email out saying "The content is better" you would get Y come back. I would wager X is greater than Y 8) Jac |

An idea I've toyed with....
When PK gets turned off, turn it off for all maps bar vod. (In hsoma). Kinda agree with Jac. Although it has to be said, not much personal war has gone on in the last few months. I think the majority of the problems is that after lvl 75/80 the only two mobs you see until cap is blg or nm. And they get repetitive quickly.

"GENEFUSER"I'd come back and play more if it wasn't mandatory to level up with a healer. The persional healers annoy me too. It's not right, it's not soma. *edit* Most dsoma classes have an actual advantage of an healer as they can enjoy bigger bonusses from the next mobs earlier. Quests is something I wil start working on again in the near future.

"JACKELPUP"If you want players who have left to come back you need to consider why they left. seriously comparing the players here to "the way it was" when most of the players left is delusional... the majority left when eq was dominating they do not "exist" anymore I don't get involved very often on posts unless its for bantz but you sir are being a divvy you literally just took a dig at certain people in a constructive thread trying to improve the server, if someone came on to forum and read this thread until they got to your post and it wouldn't be oh theres still "bullying" in game they will think oh look another butt hurt guy who makes this place childish. the majority of us left over mainly FT and no_mercy not sure on arcanix tbh never had anything to do with them have gone through 10x anyone In your guild has. you're wearing an apus bow I believe bro I was playing flat out for like 2 months and not getting anywhere due to pking you haven't experienced what the "people who left did" im not making a dig at eq either it was worth logging onto soma for the bantz and chase, i'm not ranting jackel you just have no clue about the way people was when the majority left you are obvious biased towards the way some people are now because of recent events you've had, if you wasn't a gobshite to those guys they wouldn't come back I suggest you play sportsman like and accept pking/multying as the way it has always been instead of beating your keyboard up.
