Crafting restock amounts

Author Content Date
"ACVX"Ppl with big bagweights have levelled and put some serious hours in. Try level up a bit, gain some levels and gain some bagweight tbh...

Though , i do feel ur pain with some serious new interest in buying copper and leather by some ppl.
Always used to be that was some orc mets left and tiger leathers to be bought.
Limitles supplies of all mats would not help any1. gain some levs/ bweight/ and pick ur buying times when no1 else is around.

Soma aint supposed to be easy. You have to work for ur things. And hopefully other ppl do it the same way

Some people work and have kids and a life... cant be logging in during the night to buy some craft mats.... most people that aint capped are people that havnt much time for soma, so when they log on they just want to get on with things and not stand in town for hours for a few K mats...

Just make it unlimited the game doesnt have to be that hard fs

We've not all got 10+ hours a day to play anymore!

Precisely. I wake up at 6am CET to go to work, and sometimes i'll log on and see if i can grab any mats. It's pretty demoralising to see the same people standing there oftentimes.

Every1 whos crafted has had to put up with those things. We've all felt cheated/ pissed off when we've had 600 bw and some lev 100 comes along with 1k+ ..u just have to deal with it. Level up a bit, save ur crafting for a few levels time.
Ppl who are buying now, proly jus going thro a phase of buying/crafting.
If ur lev 70 , go gain 3-4-5-6- levels... try buy a bit when ur in town. Never a shortage of things to do here. Always something u can be doing, if someone else is getting in ur way.

They probably didn't have to deal with something like the character 'Spudrick' right now. Time hits 1, the dude is already running away from the vendor having bought copper. He was able to buy and store instantly, and runs the same path every time. He kept running the same path over and over, even after the copper was all gone. He also didn't buy any of the orc metal, despite there also being tonnes of that. He is currently still running the same path bouncing back and forth between the vendor and the wh despite restock happening around 20 minutes ago, and there having been no mats for him to buy for 15 minutes. I took some screenshots too.

Ultimately I don't give a fuck if people want to bot their crafting because their having high crafting skill doesn't really affect my gameplay. I want SR and I'm patient enough to grind it out, what I do find incredibly annoying is that someone else can buy up all of the mats instantly without being at their computer.

Saying I should wait for 3-4-5-6 levels before attempting again doesn't solve this problem. Even if i had 1000 bagweight this dude was so unbelievably fast at buying and storing mats I would still be able to buy considerably less than him (and he had 750ish bagweight too). Rested experience time gates efficient levelling, and botters time gate efficient crafting.

As long as I have a say crafting materials will not be unlimited. Crafting is a choice that should be supplemental or alternative to levelling.

Crafting at lower levels has always been a bitch, I remember this from ESoma well.

I've noted that there are (suspected) cheaters at the restocks so when I'm ingame next I will check it out.

all I used to do was craft 3 days and hunt 1 which kept me going with rested. but also stocked aload of mats before I started. still had to deal with big bw players, I'm sure it when I was around lvl 50 (my char only lvl 66 now)

if I still got mats ill give you them

How about this idea.

Alter the code so that each char can only take from the restock three times each day and make crafting materials bound to char on pickup/non-tradeable. This means everyone gets their restock, but people with higher BW get more and bots cannot abuse the system.

It would sound easier if you could make shops open per person, with separate stocks. But I don't see the point in that other than slowing people down. Now it's the same type of competition as hunting with 5 people in one spawn. Sure the spawn could be made bigger when things get too difficult, but making the spawn 10x bigger just because right now it's overcrowded seems... too much.

I'll ask Sylver when I see he is available about his thoughts on increasing the stock slightly.

Even a flat increase of 1500-2000 in stock amounts would be a significant help without being gamebreaking. People still have to craft all these mats. Just something to think about!

How about limiting the quantity you can buy in a single transaction and have a delay added between buying more.

So can still use up all the bag weight you have by buying multiple times.

The delay could just be a few seconds.

That then allows anyone who is at the NPC to atleast grab something and everyone can only grab the same quantity within the same amount of time.

The downside is that it would reduce competition between who can get the mats.
- Cannot be quicker than other players (assuming everyone uses UI at same speed).
- Cannot buy higher quantity.

Another thing is that we could have the buying delay be dynamic. So that if there not other players within the area running the mats then the delay is lowered to remove the annoyance.

"ACVX"Every1 whos crafted has had to put up with those things.

It sucks but I don't agree that this should be a reason not to change things.

Imo keep it the same, when i was crafting only a few weeks ago there was 1 other person there with me for atleast a week getting mats was fine, it's just a peak time.

I agree with Kaidone on this one, would much rather your time go into something more related to content or features. Ive been crafting the last week or so and sometimes theres other people at the restocks but alot of the time theres no one. Ive got over 100k copper in the last two days so its not hard at all.

I think the biggest issue is people dont actually know when the materials have restocked, Instead of them being on a random timer just set them at set times. I found it really difficult till someone actually told me when and how they restock

Say time 1, 6, 11, 16,21

The guard could even shout that abais has had a delivery of materials!
