A problem with the % system at GVW/WotW and how to solve it

Am I being paranoid or is it just a certain guild that object this new change? Is it because GV will be harder to maintain without your axer exploit or you're just a genuinely illogical bunch?

Anyway Jara is right the percentage system he illustrated shows it more disadvantageous to Archer and knucklers as they will end up doing 1-5 damage where spears and axers will still do 75-100. Back on topic. Meaning the % will affect other classes a lot more than others.

Evil_JR won the last guild war on 70%.

Is he an Axer?

Most of our guild wins have been JR or Path on the stone.

The idea that there will only be 1 build for each class is more or less making the game boring, the only fun will maybe be at WotW...

Also account an axer`s strength, compared to an archer`s dex... to a mage's intelligence... it's their key stat that makes them the class they are.


Now that players have invested tens of thousands of hours into their characters, the idea is now to effectively wipe Dsoma and make everyone clones of eachother.



That's what I absolutely hate about the upcoming stat allocatin patch. DSoma will be cloned. It'll make DSoma come down to who has the better gear, there's no excitement in that.

Not sure why everyone is saying this, Dsoma is basically cloned already anyway.

This will give first gen chars that got fucked over by mobs not being in game when they capped to have equal stats

Main thing tho is being able to fix future balance issues within days? instead of years - Axer 2nd aura

If axe 2nd aura was really broken, why is it that Knowone and Deimos die pretty easily with it up?

And who got screwed over due to new mobs? The only people who capped prior to new mobs were archers who don't even need hogs/apai to cap.

Like iv already posted loads of times..

Rewind the 2 shit chars by 5? Levels. Let them have a go at capping on hogs.. that don't give any more stats than wbm

No-one is suffering any deduction in stats then..

Start the point system from lvl 101.

With the str/con and int/wis change comes in it will be totally different anyway.


Why not throw that change in now and await feedback prepatch... instead of all in 1 go?

Had a long day and I can't even be bothered to argue anymore. Coven and co. seem to be the only ones to dislike this idea (not yet seen a valid reason why, btw).

If you all wanna quit go ahead, as one of you already said there's only like 5 active players in Coven. Those 5 players will be easily replaced by all the new people that wanna try out the new system, np.

Apologies to any Coven players that haven't said they will quit, I know there's at least one of you ;)

I think I've already gone through all the necessary logic and pseudo code with Finito already on page 3 and 4 so you may as well lock this thread now.

To clarify: Second Axe aura does not give a percentage defense it adds a static +15 defense to EVERY player.

Also, please try to keep this thread constructive.

JR are you ignorant or something? I assume you are referring to me being one of those (same to you s0rc) , there's so many issues besides what crippled me and a few others early on in the game. Just because I'm being vocal about the whole system don't try and make out like it's just a few people that are affected. as I have said I can play two other capped chars if I want to, but i've witnessed the imbalance from playing them as well.

Most people don't like the idea of having to punch to keep up to those willing to do so, as it gives such an advantage and for GMs to correct the imbalance that's already caused requires a system like the one proposed. You could argue that if someone is willing to put in the time then they deserve it, but the punching was never intended to be as it is, considering original server rates, and the fact str capped at 212 anyway.... the stats were never meant to be the way they are with str acting as att and def but yet you are arguing for it, for obvious reasons.

What you propose mainly benefits axers (and other str chars to a degree admitedly) and those who have punched like you at a time when it became possible to punch from earlier on. You incidentally also make no sense, I started punching before 95?? stop talking rubbish the both of you.....new end game mobs changed the dynamics as it gives axe/spear/sword the advantage to go higher with their str, which again affects balance further., it was granted to allow axe users to carry on leveling which was needed at the time, but a new solution is now required. also gave the chance for punch chars to punch from an earlier point in time thus gaining more str.

S0rc just witness any 1v1 scenario axe v any other class with equal gear, it always wins. Admittedly this may change when str/con are changed.

Jara I haven't seen anyone in Coven say anything against your change, myself included. The thread really should've been continued in ASDASDA's thread as we're now talking about the stat change nonsense which was done due to the how broken the game was back when wis was MD and con was DF.

The argument about an axer's strength is getting out of hand now, there's a reason they cap with 130~140 dex (correct me if i'm wrong). It's like saying reduce an archer's dex because we can't hit them because of 2nd aura and their 200 soft cap'd dex... (an axer's POV)
