We’re having a voice discussion on Sunday open to all, we are looking at reasons people quit and have quit for, and are looking at ways they can be addressed, hence the +50 changes, healing changes, anvil alterations, devil soma drops, new weapons, etc details please cho :)

Just to put my perspective into this chat more constructively
+50 route... If people want to have top end chars put the effort in Healing to 100, if you care about that last few dex gains put the effort in You want +5/8 items either grow some balls like the majority of the people that own them or deal with what you have The main issue is the lack of time the gms have to put into the game it was always going to get to this the pure lack of content release over the years has only deteriorated, same events, same gear, same maps, same mobs, putting 2 mobs and 10 levels in place every so often makes it busy till people are sick of hunting yet another mob for 100+ hours, quests to kill 8k odd of the same mob isn't that fun anymore, going out and killing people only for them to moan that your killing the game and driving people away, leave only 1 option farming the same mobs we have killed for years to gain gear to do what with? Attend gvw? Wotw? These have next to 0 effect to capped people that don't want to spend there life at mags /papa

"PAPA"Just to put my perspective into this chat more constructively Lower the entry requirement to feel like you're making a character on an equal footing by taking away hours of pointless grind, diversify the mobs you're grinding through and give many more to get to the point where they have gear that allows them to be viable in PvP and you will have a lot more PvP and a lot less moaning about being PK'd. The reason people moan about being PK'd now is because it isn't PvP it is a band of characters that you have absolutely no chance of ever defending yourself against jumping you and murdering you. Even the playing field and more people will play.

Lower the entry requirement to feel like you're making a character on an equal footing by taking away hours of pointless grind, diversify the mobs you're grinding through and give many more to get to the point where they have gear that allows them to be viable in PvP and you will have a lot more PvP and a lot less moaning about being PK'd.
The reason people moan about being PK'd now is because it isn't PvP it is a band of characters that you have absolutely no chance of ever defending yourself against jumping you and murdering you.

We have stated we are working on new weapons/ aura animations etc Papa.
Micky, the + 50 route changes will make any monster above your str or int gone stats at the +50 rate until 84 str / int at which point you are looking at shanis / nightmares anyway 😀. The healing changes are going to make healing for int faster as to stop people spending weeks afk in TYT. The anvil changes the GM’s are happy with at the moment (they have said they can change even further if it is shown not to affect the game too much balance wise) is to make the anvil not break an item on fail up to +3, so at +1 you can attempt to upgrade and if it fails you keep your +1 item and only lose the failed upgrade item. Drops of shanis/ blg/ nightmares are being changed to be more relevant. I really think that you need to bring up the implications of the +3 stat thing with the GMs as I do not think that they are thinking clearly in terms of balance. It is surely more balanced and also solves regression completely to have items that are capped in terms of their potential by +1 but no stat on fail rather than flooding the game with loads of +3 items that then just become back-ups for rips just the same as happens now. You aren't changing the system you are just shifting it along the axis by +3.

I'm meaning this in the spirit of open dialogue as I think this thread was intended, not as any kind of disrespect, but that just doesn't fly for me. Why not just lower the success % of SS and Double tabs if that is truly the concern? We know tabs can be given separate success rates as seen by the 150 skill success for 0 skill crafters on RDT/DT etc.

All we can do is let them make changes at the rate they are happy with. |

That is fair enough - any change in the right direction is warmly welcomed don't get me wrong but I really think that you are just shifting a problem along a scale and are actually more likely to imbalance the game than with with the fake +1. You can set SS to only apply to +5 items and set the success rate of double tabs to be lower than regular tabs. This would alleviate their concerns and truly fix the problem as opposed to shunting it along by +3.

I personally agree with you, not everyone in the group agrees it is the best method but it is agreed unanimously that a positive change as a first step is a good move in the right direction, and ultimately I respect the GM’s decision, I’m sure they will revisit the anvil should they feel comfortable making it better.

great to see changes and new ideas being discussed, but, for me anyway, the failure to address the real problem with the anvil is tragic to hear. Guess my return was very short-lived.
