if a warrior has to change the standard build to wear the item then surely its only logical for the mage to have to do the same other wise its hardly balanced?

It seems the majority of people who are opposing the change of the int requirement are basing their judgement on their bias as they are from opposing guilds or they are mages and this doesn't apply to them.

I'm a mage and even I think that glass cannon melee builds should not be punished on gaining potential damage on new accessories... I mean their whole build matches this item perfectly.
Logically why would you need intelligence to deal melee based damage?

It would frustrate me greatly if a melee character with more int and less dex than me now has the potential to have more MD aswell as more damage as they can now wear the new accessory. That to me alone is just unfair.

It wouldn't be game breaking for any and all melee characters to have access to this anyway as mages have DB procs on hero accessories which deal over 100% of the users ma at 8% chance with a chance to double or triple proc.

The melee based proc damage pales in comparison as there is a max damage cap for a single hit.
Mage procs are separate hits and each individual spell can hit the max damage separately.

Yes you can even argue that melee can hit several times faster per second with their +8 weapons and therefore can proc more often, but that's a different topic for a different thread.

It takes 1 level to get 120 int after level 120. 1 level is hardly substantial to get 120 int now is it? If you chose to maximise str/dex and totally negate INT, thats your own decision. If it was the reverse, how many mages would complain if it was 120 str requirement to wear an INT alternative?

I think it's to low

make it 150 int and you get greater build diversity

some will sacrifice 1-2 levels of str/dex to get it some wont there you go already diversified builds even more than they are.

"MERLIN"With the incoming damage from procs 20md isn't worth as much as you claim, all it does is cater toward the majority of mages which are generally str type anyway

Lol and you call yourself a mage? With all the proc’s 20 md is much more than it’s ever counted for lol - it’s simple maths.

"LUTHER"I think the idea is to try encourage people to balance their stats a bit more / reward those that have

The problem with the tank one is getting that much dex wastes way more xp (+ its literally a wasted stat) - you'd have to completely ruin your char to wear it

ok so warriors should lower there dex making dex mages absolutely not hittable gd logic there lets be honest for a second balancing falls at the bottom of the gms priority list jsut nerf after nerf for melee chars

I don't really get how a new item can be a nerf, let's be honest no proper mages are gonna be saving up their scrolls to buy the defence necky and if it had 120 Dex requirement literally only melle chars would use it

Also ppl should stop expecting to 1v1 every build, the whole point is that one build counters another

Aoumie mate, if you have the English skills of a 3 year old, and the general level of intelligence to match - you probably shouldn’t try to engage in any form of debate.

Ok I rephrase, 20 md while still being that low is pointless
I can 1 hit devs with 160md+
So 120 will do nothing more than 100

Oh because something is possible, means it will happen every time now? Rofl wtf kinda argument is that mate, really?

120 vs 100 will =:

Vs 1 Proc no weak: 40 less damage taken.

Vs 1 proc 1 weak: 80 less damage taken.

Do I need to continue?

Of course you CAN get unlucky and have someone quad proc while weakened, yes in this instance you will probably not survive even if you have 180 int, but a lot of the time people won’t drop a quad proc while you’re weakened (maybe more likely if you’re a shoddy player, I dunno) and you give yourself a greater chance of survival for quite a minimal amount of xp.

Also int robe’s exist.

Honestly I don’t know why people who play this game have such a hard time understanding these simple facts.

Hope that helps.
