Ye the ones he couldnt drop so easily, the op punch chars,one of the main reasons the silly stat system came into play ;)

Seems the removal of the stat but keeping feeds is a good way forward

You could bring KD back, but only show on feed or increase KD if its a kill on a character within level ranges of 120-125

So running around pking a lvl 106 constantly wouldn't increase your KD and wouldn't decrease the other players KD, or even show on the feed, infact, its just a waste of moral and 25k for a res scroll

That might stop the abuse, and if someone wants to KD boost by killing their lvl 125 alt - well thats what your new advisors / GM would be able to monitor (its only a small community and wouldn't be hard to spot)

I would also reset KD each month, treat it like seasons that can have its own player profile page

July - 1.7KD
[July Kill feed]

June - 2.7 KD
[June kill feed]

May - 1.2 KD
[May kill feed]

This way, a new month would encourage a fresh start, people have a bad month on the old PK front but can make up for it the next month, something to get excited about and try to improve on at end game

It may bring back the amazing PK fights we used to have, would encourage lots to come out of retirement maybe?

I also read about immunity potions in another thread, if the above idea was in place it wouldn't stop a PVE focused level 125 from feeling like they are being targeted for easy KD, so another idea for future content below:

Any new map you have, upon entering the map and clicking the portal you are asked if you want to enter the safe mode or danger mode, safe mode grants the same map, same mobs and same drop files at 1x drop rates but cannot be attacked as PK mode is not enabled (think nega room status here)

The other option upon clicking the portal is danger mode, where its exact same copy of the map, same mobs, same drop file but at 1.5x drop rates however you can be shanked and ganked as PK mode is ON. If you die a few times you can always go to the 1x version and come back later to attack your rivals when your guildies are on?

This map could have a larger spawn of Elders / Trolls / Wasps and any new mobs you want to add for end game
(PLEASE ADD MERC SNOW TROLL CAVE FOR THE LADS DAN!!)
Just throwing ideas out there to cater for all play styles

K/D offers nothing to the game IMO. First year or two? we managed fine without it and things seemed a little less toxic...Although I'm sure there are many more factors involved there.

K/D simply drives toxic behavior with how the game dynamics and server population is , videos and feed deaths should be plenty, as already mentioned.

+1 to some of Nixhers ideas to (regardless of whether K/D remains or not). Especially the ability for your opponent to constantly /pos, /lastonline you or your alts...Make them work for it like we used to have to back on Esoma (it makes it too easy for toxic players to be just that, toxic.) Maybe these commands could be enabled for players within your own guild only. Or have an /allow list.

I think the GMs might under estimate just how much that function is abused.

100% agree

1 button, 30+ ppl /pos within a second, just remove /pos completely and make /lastonline work only for ppl in same guild if possible, or if you can get lastonline within the guild roster window

/lastonline to only show last logout of that person and /pos to show pos whether online or not

Not played for about 6 months due to 4/5/6 capped v 1 every hour getting their 2 kills then bragging how great they are at PvP, then slagging you afterwards and mob stealing, so removing KD wouldn't stop these immature idiots.
The sensible thing to do as has been said, is to lower the PK limit to +/- 5 lvls. Idc about the KD count.
If that happens then I'd consider coming back.
