First of all I want to thank iSylver and Fin for all the hard work that's gone into this patch. Especially in light of personal circumstances.

Usercount seems to have shrunk since patch and subsequently so has the economy. From what I can understand from comments of other players this has been because of multiple reasons

1) Community issues
2) The increased grind
3) New boss
4) Drop rate on new mobs

Have i missed anything? It would be nice to see if there is anything we can do to get the usercount back up. Please keep it clean and don't turn this post into a flame war, this is intended for the betterment of the game and ultimately the overall enjoyment for all of us.

Hopefully there will be upcoming events halloween / xmas and few doubles, maybe we might see a few more return?

Some ideas...

Improve shak lvl wep drops by 200% from troll
As per other post about nega
Troll and wasp spawn on conti with 20% faster exp only if hunt on conti
A repeated quest on troll/wasp for a choice of relevant items from level 110
Revamt of drop files of all common lvling mobs to gice insentive for people to make new chars

I also thinking about “donations” now its so slow to lvl i will not need to buy rested pots but can the sever pay for itself anyother way, like many other games a subscription with bonuses dor tjat account

Say £9.99 a month and that account gets the following bonus
Mags give small ammount of rested exp (i.e hunt mags when no rested)
Crafting is 2xfaster and access to a better stocked mat shop
Access to a warp npc to common spawns

Just an idea so it isnt “pay to win” rather pay to make lofe easier and to make you play

subs been discussed b4... they aint gona happen. Just donate if and when u can is good enough.

For me

Dsoma needs somthing to balance archers with none range class's

With out this theres no reason to continue playing spear.

The new wis requirement weapons just made me not want to play even more

Why this patch have so many new magic procs - who has been asking for this?

I don't want to be ungrateful to all the hard work but we need a GM for dsoma - let's help fund it.

Not a fan the amount of magic procs either, realy dont see the need for the amount of different ones, unless there's some differences then the new higher dmg just make the old redundant

I've been in the background for a while, I periodically check back in to see if any changes have been made that may favour someone in my position. As much as me and my friends wanted to play in the past, it just doesn't suit, as progression feels entirely too sluggish, and without a good level of progression you can't really participate in anything outside of grinding on the same enemies.
With limited time to play, rested isn't something that would suffice at a low level. You just ended up playing for a few hours a week and felt like you got nowhere.

I love the game play most days but I will not pay to play and I know few others that won't that will be around 30 odd free srs u will miss out on a day 😬

Things soma needs to be here in another year. In order or priority IMO.

1. Active GM / Forum mod who is community focused... Leave the development to finito and isylver. Basically an event manager and babysitter for the forum.
2. Mirror low level wasted mobs stats with used mobs stats or make them close so you can vary the pixels you stare at. I'm. Talking post level 60/70 mobs for Dsoma and hsoma. Vary drop files to add new low level tabs to help noobs. (hsoma examples: hoarde shanis blg, nightmare)
3. Tweak all quests under level 100 to have useful rewards. A lot of them just need the level requirement dropped.
4. Event calendar on the website for seasonal stuff, scheduled in game events as well as double weekends.
5. Make it a tiny bit quicker to level 100 and a tiny tiny bit quicker to 110.
6. Make crafting faster after 100 skill. The server is how old? We have one person capped (nearly 2?) who else is ever going to cap in the lifetime of the game? Crafting needs a bit of love really especially if you're a pot or acc crafter but that's another post.
7. Quest chains with useful rewards for players under 110.

The main thing really is to start catering for casual players with <110 content and actively managing the forum toxicity. The tryhard players will always be here that's been proven recently. Soma needs to lure casual players back and new players in first and foremost. We need engaging content as we progress to being able to compete in endgame pvp (gvw wotw)

On subscriptions, it’s a rights issue. Isylver and Finito don’t own Soma, they are just using the code. They could get in trouble if they charge for the game. Hence why it’s donations only.

As for me, none of my guild came back so I gave up also. I couldn’t tell you exactly why they didn’t bother, but mostly seems down to the following:
1) slow/hard mobs (if you play a tank build, unless you have the best gear in game trolls aren’t viable really)
2) no pvp/content (for whatever reason pvp is non existant (what reason is there to grind?) (can boss events be programmed automatically without the need for GM’s online?)
3) gear advantage. The new weps and items needed to be good enough that it made the current items redundant. As it is a year from now, the same +8 weps and +5 armour that was OP at lvl 100 will be used at lvl 120.

I'm only level 54 or so, 83str 73 dex and i feel there is nothing to hunt. Dw's are a pain to get to and ive been there for ever.

For me personally the total imbalance in dsoma would need addressing. I wouldn’t dream of playing this char as mages can one hit me (even more easily now they could quad-proc from range lol and archers have crazy dex, range, can still hit fairly hard (arguably that’s just because they almost never miss and it’s an accumulative effect).

Strength and con are half stats, dex is a full stat like before the changes. So therefore the classes with higher dex gain a large advantage over the classes with more str/con - simply put everyone shouldn’t get the same amount of stats to allocate if you want balance. It also doesn’t help that sword v spear (I’m talking at 110 - I don’t know much about how different it’ll be at 120, but I’m guessing it’ll be much the same) there is a 5 dex difference, it’s the same with axe, then it’s something like a 9 dex jump from sword to knuckle and another 9 dex jump from knuckle to archer.

Dsoma drop rates need increasing without a doubt.

Now onto just soma in general, I love the idea of alternative mobs to switch between that offer different drops for many reasons:
1) It will be way less boring than staring at the same mob day in day out for however long.
2) It’ll help with mobs being overcrowded at peak times and/or during events when the UC has previously gone pretty crazy, sometimes making it less worth taking advantage of x2 levelling etc.

I think as someone said above, new endgame mobs in conti with a 20% levelling speed boost which would also mean busier WOTW’s and maybe some more RvR in conti.

Never turn PK off again except x2 events or maybe the GM spawned events (I feel everyone knows we can’t PK at GM spawned bosses anyway) if there are people abusing rules/the system then warn them and deal with them accordingly, but punishing everyone for the small minority being idiots makes zero sense.

A community/forum mod to get rid of all the toxicity (which does seem to have improved a little recently believe it or not lol) but it’s not a good look for current players, let alone people considering coming back or maybe even debating giving soma a go.

A dedicated time where donation items will be sorted out, I’ve heard a lot of people get very frustrated with having to wait around for too long to get the items they’ve bought, then by the time they arrive they don’t even have them for the reason they wanted anymore - some even say they will never buy again due to this.

I would also suggest that new caps are held off on, focus on tweaking the existing game before adding more new content and potentially new problems too, things being tested before being launched as we’ve seen is also 100% essential to avoid bugs and frustrations on both the players and the GM’s parts.

I’d be happy to expand on any of these issues more if needs, but these are just the main issues off the top of my head.

Well..on a positive note.. there's plenty of ppl here 'wanting' to play soma..if this happens. .or if that happens.......
I'm sure gm's have a tweak or 2 in the pipeline. So, you can play and wait for them..gaining some stats and items in the meantime .. or not!
There's some hypocrisy here ..asking for monthly subs.. but refusing to make donations ..seems a weird stance to take.
Another 1 saying 'him and his mates' will never pay to play.. well no1's ever asked you to..but in the light u get everything for free.. an occasional donation isnt a lot to ask ?
With only dan and fin doin it all here.. we cant expect things to be instant or them to jump to it every time there's a query, idea or suggestion.
In the end..the future of this game is in the players hands. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.. you might regret it if one morning it wasn't here any more.

You can try warmess 1 at a time, they were more fun than DW and you get to watch your moral sky rocket!

As for the issues in this thread, the only thing putting me off, although I'm still playing, is feeling like by the time I get to lvl 100 there won't be much user count left.
