i can only agree about not raising it too soon ... pilots will only prosper more .. for single player its just bad for their health playing so much ... @tolic get a job ... @lupi get a girl :p
i know its not an easy decision to make, you want to keep the high level chars playing but at same time you dont want to see others give up cause they cant catch up a system that would only allow a char to gain stats for max 5 hours a day is not such a bad idea tbh. Anyone who plays more than 5 hours a day (even in the weekend) ... well they will discover this thing called life

Quests will help a little maybe.
Most important thing atm is to find out why dsoma has died and how we can bring it back to life. It seems 90% of the population leave their chars in conti and raid. Most originals have quit. And there has been no turnout to a WotW in a month +

I have no thoughts on this, as I don't play dsoma.
Just seems really strange to me seeing as it's taylored for quick leveling and easy gains. |

"STYLE"I have no thoughts on this, as I don't play dsoma. Dsoma is too linear for most. When you get to the end game monsters, hunting becomes a real chore and generally mandatory to have a healing character up until a point. Until recently Dsoma had no crafting, so there's nothing to do other than hunt, and if hunting the same monster for 10-20 levels at a time gets boring, you're more than likely going to quit since there's nothing else to keep you active. Now we have crafting, unlike Hsoma, the only ways to get upgrades and such is via killing bosses, most of which we dont even get to see unless you camp for them. There are no frogs etc to try and craft your own upgrades. A lot of the upgrade items we can get our hands on are for +1 only, so stacking them to try better upgraded sets is also out of the question. Upgrading in general, unlike Hsoma, our gear varies massively when tagged or not, and to even grab something worth attempting an upgrade on is hard in itself with just how extremely low drop chances are on dsoma... and then it breaks. There's the factor of balance between classes which until some more of us reach level 100 we cant make many comments on, but the fact that the classes are so far out of line for the first 95 levels puts most people off. Another huge point to think about is the one sided bias views of humans when it came to wotw % and raiding %. It really put off pretty much all of dsoma way back when, especially because the % was adjusted, and then never again looked at. Now this looks like a negative post and that im moaning, which im not or I wouldn't still be here, but they are truths and it might help you to understand why a lot of devils no longer play.

Raiding % and WotW % is shit for both sides.
Carnage has recently started playing a human, and has been moaning about it on the human side as well. As for upgrades, people I see are walking round with +5 weapons. Upgrading in hsoma has been around since time 0 and there arnt many people with +5 weapons.

Another grass is always greener thread I see.
A major reason why people drop out is monopolisation by guilds. Dsoma have one dominating guild thus the wars become futile. Is it something for us to address? No. The community will do what they want to do. If they want to form a Monopoly then they'll damage the usercount. This is venturing off topic but ask yourselves which race has had the most updates since August 31st 2013?

"ISYLVER" This is probably because in esoma, dsoma was a fucking shambles and poorly put together in comparison to hsoma. There's been a shed load of good work put into dsoma but it is still hack and grind 24/7. That's what has always put me off it so i'd have literally no idea where to start either

Small update on the DSoma quests ~ Sylver has been busy with work and exploring even new possibilities for Soma. Therefor his work on the dsoma quests (all of the hsoma ones took 6 hours) are delayed a bit.
Luckily, he's not alone. It's something I can do and have been doing. Currently there's about 15 quests left that need to be typed out. This is something that I'll be doing during this week. I estimate and hope that it will be done this weekend to be implemented Saturday or Sunday. The reason for my sudden disappearence from ingame. I know some of you have an idea of why I haven't been around but I'll explain it anyway. I've always been a gamer ~ since I was 8 years old. Unfortunately there's something very important I forgot when gaming. Namely how to sit. When you game for hours a day and years in and out (with a small bit of life on the side) your body starts to shape like it. So last year I started getting aching in my hands and later also my neck. I went to a fysiotherapist who 'fixed' me. However it's not as simple as that. I need to get regular exercise in the right manner to maintain my ability to use my hands properly. This is fine and pretty easy to do. It just needs some structure. So my tip to you is when playing Soma make sure you take a small break every now and then to move around a bit and mind how you sit! I am working to be back ingame unfortunately work takes precedence over soma. And even then Soma development work (dsoma quests) are of higher priority than being ingame. This probably isn't the right thread but I couldn't be bothered to make a new one.

Level cap shouldn't be raised yet imo. And when it is raised some thought will be needed as to how to ensure balance in the long term.
For example. New mobs can't be introduced, as lower levels will stop hunting blg and move onto the new mobs for more efficient gains. With the amount of xp int takes, this will ruin characters. So do people just lvl on blg and nm for another ten levels? Seems boring and will not be a long term solution. Do we put mobs on a lvl100+ only map? Well that will kill pvp/pk. Someone else suggested it and I also thought about it recently is the diablo 3 paragon system. Lvl 100s could still level but gain stats they can allocate. I.e gain 2.0 stat points per lvl and an npc will allocate these to your chosen stat. I also think these new quests should reset every month ;p

Remember that the new DSoma mobs after WBM do not have bonus XP. I do believe this will apply to all new mobs to prevent such problems. Also on a side note these won't be the only new quests. We've just got to start somewhere. Soma will never be done developing on nearly all fronts. :D

Ghost - good on ya for taking your health first. Easy to ignore.
I do think the server needs another moderator. I think pk has been on for less than 24hours in the past 2 weeks. More people quit because of this than anything else. The population will only continue to drop. This is off topic so gunna post my thoughts on pk in the other thread.

Forgot that about the dsoma mobs.
As I don't play dsoma I don't know how they exactly work. But say nightmares slow down is at 156 and 166. Say you grind out int to cap 176 that's 20int of slower gains. These new mobs you start at 156, surely you get the next 20int in far less xp?
