"DEAMOND""RAVENSOUL"Yes sabrewolf the item will return back to having no upgrade on it and its dura will also be taken down to 1 dura. I still think that the +1 and nothing else on fail way is better as eventually the item will need to be replaced

Attempting an upgrade on any item for +1 or +2 or +3 you will only lose the upgrade item on failing and your item will be just like new but with 1 dura.
Honestly feel like this went from one extreme to another, this will impact the economy in a big way
I.E you only need 1 intense OTM, 2 rare troll rings and you won't have to buy anymore.
could be a happy compromise using this method..
weps to +3 arm to +2 ( or +3 maybe) but doesn't work on accessories |

"WOLF8"could be a happy compromise using this method.. I would feel sorry for all the mages, with bow users all running around with +8 400 recoil bows. |

@deamond it hasn't been implemented just yet but special repairs will be in greater demand due to fails from +1 to +3 will result in the dura being at 1 dura.
Don't forget this Sunday on discord everyone is invited to take part in the discussions regarding all your concerns about things in this thread. Everyone's views/opinions are welcomed.

I don't think making the first few upgrades 100% will help anything, people will still rage when items break, people want +5/+8 items and people quit over +7s breaking and +4s breaking to +5 not the earlier upgrades
Like someone else mentioned I suggest making items not break when they fail but still get a +1 E.g. If you have a +3 5% eva top and put a DP on it which fails (Then your top goes to +4 but stays on 5%) If the next DP works then it goes to +5 +6% eva but since DP doesn't go above +5 then the top is stuck on 6% eva This way items dont break and the hardcore will still be trying to make max success on items (7% eva in this case)

ppl be more likely to quit when they find their annual legendary drop and it blows up with the 1st visit to the anvil.
There's still the luck and gamble to go above +3 ..but the opportunity to get some useable equips is a must imo without putting in 1000's of hours, which most ppl don't have.

Safe up to +3 without wep/armour loss. Anything over +4 that fails revert it back to +1.
I like it. |

Yeah and if upgrades dont break items but still add + then it won't break but you might only get 3 or 4 toe success out of 5 so you might end up with a great weapon or a shite weapon but atleast you will have a weapon. Hardcore can try to get 5/5 successes but the casual player will still endup with a weapon that is +5 (But only 3 or 4 toe successes)

"ILEE"Safe up to +3 without wep/armour loss. Anything over +4 that fails revert it back to +1. I don't like this, this will essentially mean that if you throw enough EP / SS at something it will always end up at +8 perfect weps which is what we don't want because people will stop farming after making a wep Going down the upgrade fails and item gains a +1 means that everyone ends up with +8 weapons but means that there will be good ones and bad ones depending on how many successes you get and will also mean that the hardcore players can keep farming for weapons that are 8/8 success

My own personal view regarding recoil on weapons is I believe each weapon type should have a cap, machine gun weapons are the cause of a lot of trouble in Soma.
The only people that should have ultra fast machine gun weapons are the GM's for crowd control ;)

there's not a huge difference between both of these methods...but the 'never breaking item' would end up with an absolute flood of +-6-7-8 items... most of which had a few fails on it... and while they might still be useful... there'd be so many of them around ..they would become worthless

Hence the if an upgrade fails you get a +1 on the item so you could end up with a +5 wep with only 2 or 3 succesful toes but atleast the wep doesn't break

well imo.. what Raven says was discussed.. u can keep trying till u succeed +3 without the wep breaking..at least that way u get a proper +3 ..all successful adds..and then its up to you after that if u fancy ur chances..sounds better x

"SABREWOLF"I think its good, economy will be fine as people will all still be trying for the +8 Not really because everyone would be guaranteed a +8 intense weapon if you have enough SS and EP if weapons don't break Thats why I think we need to go down the if an upgrade fails you get +1 but no stats on the upgrade.
