"BLIGHT"I think a recoil cap needs to be introduced, if it will produce more machine gun bows or whatever.

Just a quick update regarding the anvil, due to some of the community's concerns regarding the +1, +2, +3 attempts keeping your item safe from being lost and feeling it could make it too easy there has been another discussion resulting in revising it down to the just +1, +2 that your item will be safe from breaking.

Please don't shot the messenger, the GM's are trying to find a balance on this anvil and again I will say it's a start for addressing the anvil.

this is really not going to help at all to "fix" the anvil I'm sad to say.

I started playing again yesterday for the 1st time since January as it looked like the anvil was going to be "fixed" and it was worth coming back but this really doesn't do a thing to make it better - just introduces a small delay in loosing your stuff and it still routinely vanishes completely going +3.

Shame, as I was really looking forwards to playing again, but seems its not to be :'(

if people weren't 'raising concerns'... it might have been safe to +3 .. oh well..+2 still a nice touch

The only people moaning about +3 were the ones who already have top +8 gear so that says a lot. +3 was fine because you are still going to get same amount of fails after +3.

Mickyc its not really the same because you get your original item back

@sabre after +2 .. ur item will break ( if it fails) and u wont get it back..Just everything safe to +2

@mickyc 'free' to +2 is still a very generous tweak...every1 can have half decent wep..4% eva/acc arm ( assuming this counts for armour too)
Not to be sniffed at.

Could further tweak it ..so
100 craft skill = +1 safe
150 skill = +2 safe
200 skill = +3 safe

This would give tangible rewards for craft skill

Ah yes I remember now, been a long week :p.

I Can't really see anyone moaning about +3 in the entire thread, more just wanting fake + on fail.

It will give tangible rewards for craft skill but considering there are quite a few people out there with 200 skill now it will mean that everyone just uses a crafter with 200 skill to do upgrades and guarantee success to +3. No one in their right mind will upgrade with 100 craft skill when they know 200 skill is guaranteed success to +3. There are still going to be rage quits at the anvil when people break +6 +7 weps or +4 KE / DP items to +5

Personally I still like the idea of having an upgrade gain +1 when it fails with no benefit... This way everyone can have +5 or +8 items but each item will be different. E.g. you might make a +8 CT ring but it might only have +10 or +12 MA (If you get 5 or 6 successes) but the hardcore players will still try to make CT rings with +16 MA (8 successes) This way there are no 'rage quits' or items breaking, worst case scenario your item is still intact just it didn't improve...

the last paragraph above says it all really and, in my opinion, is the most player-friendly way to go for everyone and no one loses completely what can take months to get mats and decent base items, they only loose one opportunity to improve their item - an item tagged +7 that is really +6 in stats will still be a decent and usable item and you will still get opportunity to try again if you want to to improve it

Since I originally posted the first update with regards to the discussion on the anvil i.e. Items safe up to +3 I kept checking this thread to read all or any concerns that you all brought up. It was me that mentioned last night to Isylver and Finito that some of you had expressed concerns that +3 might be a tad too easy for eventually getting an item to +8 so it was discussed and revised, but Finito mentioned that it's easier to increase back to +3 than if it was first made to +3 then he couldn't revert it down to +2. So please it isn't even implemented yet and until it is and tested by us all then we can give real feedback and if needed after testing +2 is still harsh I'm 100% certain it will be put back up to +3.

To confirm the idea that was being discussed was:

+1 to 3 - Item still fails but lose upgrade only and item is set to 1 dura.
+4 to 8 - item could break and upgrade it also lost.

If people believe +3 is too high we can revisit.

As for the "ghost +1" e.g. item does not break but +1 is still added, I'm not entirely sure how feasible it is and would also make resale of items a little odd. "It's a +3 but shows as +5 as failed 2x". So we'd need to look at an aesthetic difference to show the value.

solve drop bottlenecks:
- make some rare items droped worldwide by all mobs at very low chance, so newbs could access them
- some rare items can be dropped by corresponding monsters
- find a way for additional barr sinks to try to fix barr economy and stopp the inflation
- avoid shadow currency (as it is becoming SBG/frogs/med rubies/SD the stuf worth is measured)
- avoid powercreep by adding new weapons

watch "extra credits" in youtube on game design in order not to mess up with stupid suggestions some people are offering. they even might be popular. games and game design is made by pros and not just gamers.

try looking for ways to make game enjoyable for new players and dont concentrate only on end game stuff like anvil, new weps, new auras, new caps.

please dont screw the game. mechanics. working systems should be tweaked by little steps

Hi Dan ;p.

Surely you would just need look at the stats of an item and not its "+" status to see if its worth you buying it for the price wanted?

Good to see that you are still thinking about everything meanwhile :) and great that change seems to be coming too! :D
