"LUPISCUS"still think the failproof +2 or 3 gives an immediate and beneficial solution to guys without any decent equips atm to knock out some useable stuff to get them back playing. This is a generous tweak for every one.. not to be sneezed at. its not the fails at +2 or +3 that make people leave boony +1 on the ghost upgrades ... still luck is needed to have 8 succesfull upgrades for the best results but at least people cba to farm weeks / months / ... for the 3 ss it will take

I firmly believe that a guaranteed no fail to +2 is better than a ghosting system where items never fail. Every1 has their own opinion. . .

I firmly believe that a guaranteed no fail to +2 is better than a ghosting system where items never fail.

Strongly in favour of items gaining +1 with no benefit if the upgrade fails.
The game / market / casual and lower level players will be able to access weapons with +4/+5 successes that the hard core dont want because they will still trying to be making +8/8 success +3 100% will help but there will still be rage quits when +7 items fail. Furthermore if an item doesnt break alll you need is 1 intense, if you have unlimited toes and SS you will eventually get to 8/8successes if you try long enough and this is what we dont want...

I'm all in favour of the anvil tweaking. But I think it's on the right direction with the other thread. Everyone wanted a +1 unbreakable upgrade . What they suggesting is a +2 with not losing an item. It fails u keep the item and just lose the tab. Even noob gear would be more benifitial getting a +2 ( still having it ) than the current +1 fail. Taken me 5 years to make my first +8. But my crafting only started a Ur ago. Not long I don't think for a casual. But with +2 u just make 5+ items (+2) and try +ING them.

I think this anvil issue needs more discussion before anything is implemented to the upgrading in Soma.
We are a community and the community has in this thread shown that the majority are not in favour of the suggestion made by Isylver, and after kicking my brain into gear I agree with what players have expressed concerns on it. Have the first 2 upgrades basically guaranteed doesn't solve the issue it just shifts it up the line and the issues instead of being from the first attempt are now moved to the third attempt. But I can't get onboard with this fake/ghost +1 either, the crafter in me tells me I would still rather lose it than keep it and get a +1 with no improvement to my item, it's would be a crime for me to see +1 and nothing improved. I believe any tweaking to the anvil should be put on hold awhile longer and allow us all to continue this discussion and throw ideas around, because the community has the intelligence to come up with the right solution that works for everyone. We may not all agree with one another at times but I know we are want the same improvements to this anvil issue.

Personally think the fail gives a +1 is great, why would you rather lose it than keep it with another +1? Surely better to have a +1 with no upgrade than having it break completely. Imagine the same with a +7 weapon... If it fails you got nothing, or you got a +8 weapon (With no improvement on your +7)

there aren't many other options apart from the 2 discussed .. unless we could squeeze a +3 no break/fail option out of the gm's..maybe ppl would go for that... or it's the ghost option +1 every time regardless of upgrade success..
whatever option the gm's go for.. it can only make life easier.

Here's a proposal what do you think about if it fails instead of a fake/ghost +1, a fail removes a set amount of dura to the item for good. Each fail lowers dura on the item?
